vivo just launched its latest Y-series phones in India with the Y31 5G and Y31 Pro 5G. The vanilla model comes in as the successor to last year’s vivo Y29 and features the same 6.68-inch IPS LCD (HD+ 120Hz) with 1000 nits brightness and an 8MP selfie cam. The chipset is now a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, which replaces the Dimensity 6300 on the Y29.

Y31 5G gets a larger 6,500 mAh battery, which still does 44W charging. The other new addition is the updated IP68/69 ingress protection which replaces the IP64 rating on the Y29. The main camera on the back is a 50MP shooter and a 0.08MP auxiliary lens.
The phone boots Android 15 with OriginOS 15 on top and comes in 4/128GB and 6/128GB trims. It is available in Rose Red and Diamond Green colors. The baseline trim is priced at INR 14,999 ($170) while the 6/128GB version will go for INR 16,499 ($187).
Y31 Pro brings a larger 6.72-inch display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate rated at 1050 nits peak brightness. It gets a Dimensity 7300 chipset, which is paired with 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage.

Interestingly, the Y31 Pro 5G only gets an IP64 rating compared to the IP68/69 on the Y31 5G. As for the cameras, it also gets a 50MP main shooter like the Y31 5G and a 2MP depth helper. The battery comes in 6,500mAh, just like the Y31 5G, and it supports up to 44W charging.
vivo Y31 Pro 5G comes in Mocha Brown and Dreamy White colors. The baseline 8/128GB trim is INR 18,999 ($215) while the 8/256GB version comes out to INR 20,999 ($238).
