Today, actor Elle Fanning sat front row at one of New York Fashion Week’s most anticipated shows: Coach. While many were watching the models wearing the storied Manhattan house’s spring 2026 designs—which included oversized slacks, trenches, and a touch of chiffon—we were rapt by Fanning’s hair. Specifically, how it was pulled into “the Olsen Tuck.”
For the uninitiated, the Olsen Tuck is a hybrid beauty-and-fashion look where you tuck the ends of your hair into the collar of your top. Likely, the look was born when somebody once asked themselves, “Where do I put all of my hair when I’m wearing something with a big collar?”—but the solution-oriented look is named for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen because they have been snapped handfuls upon handfuls of times wearing it.
Other fans of the tuck? Phoebe Philo—she did it during her Céline-with-the-accent-mark-and-don’t-you-forget-it days; models at shows like Khaite, who yes, were wearing big shearling collars; and as of today at the Coach show, the younger of the Fanning sisters.
Fanning’s take on the look included an almost-entirely Canadian Tuxedo in a light wash shade, baby blonde tresses to match. Looks like the tuck will be continuing on into fall.
