Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the province’s first-ever advanced “Coablation” cancer treatment facility at Mayo Hospital, marking a historic milestone in modern healthcare.
The state-of-the-art equipment, imported from China, has already begun treating cancer patients successfully. Unlike conventional chemotherapy or surgery, the new method uses a safe and advanced technique developed by Chinese experts.
Doctors at Mayo Hospital have reported successful operations on two patients suffering from lung and breast cancer. Using electric heat generated through the Coablation system, tumors in the liver’s blood vessels and breast tissue were destroyed without the need for invasive surgery.
According to medical experts, this breakthrough treatment causes far less discomfort compared to traditional surgery and ensures a faster recovery process. The training of doctors and staff has already been completed, ensuring smooth operation of the facility.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz described the initiative as a major step forward in providing modern and accessible healthcare in Punjab. Mayo Hospital doctors hailed the new technology as a “significant advancement” in cancer treatment.
