Number of dengue patients continues to rise in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi   –  The number of dengue patients continues to rise in the garrison city as 23 new cases were reported in last 24 hours on Saturday and 20 cases on Friday.

In the current year so far, the district health authorities has carried out screening of as many as 8,482 patients and 436 patients were confirmed to have dengue. 

As many as 43 confirmed dengue patients were under treatment in three allied hospitals of the city namely, Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, and District 

Headquarters Hospital.

According to the data shared by district health authority, from January 2025 till date, the authorities 50,520 households were examined to detect the dengue larva. The authorities checked 1,338,501 spots for the larva and found the traces at 376 places.

So far the authorities had got registered 3,970 FIRs against those who violated standard operating procedures SOPs 

of dengue. 

As many as 1,733 places were sealed for violating the dengue SOPs. The health department issued 3,329 challans and imposed fine worth Rs 9,870,000.
