RAWLAKOT: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, has announced a Rs.1 billion Poonch Development Package to address the longstanding grievances of the people of Poonch. He made this announcement while addressing a massive public gathering at the Maarka-e-Haq — Bunyān al-Marsūs rally held at Sabir Shaheed Stadium, Rawalakot.

The AJK Prime Minister stressed the need for unity and solidarity, declaring that the people of Azad Kashmir stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Armed Forces. He saluted Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Pakistan’s military and political leadership, while congratulating them on the historic Pakistan–Saudi Arabia defence agreement.

Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq said the pact has significantly enhanced Pakistan’s influence at international forums including the Arab League, United Nations, and OIC, which will strengthen global support for the Kashmir cause. “Since the day this agreement was signed, Indian analysts have been in panic,” he remarked.

He strongly condemned India’s attempts to create tension in Leepa sector over the past 72 hours, noting that Pakistan’s brave armed forces gave a firm and befitting response. He warned India: “If you provoke again, we will strike back with full force.”

Paying tribute to the martyrs and veterans of Poonch, the Prime Minister emphasized that the new development package was made possible with the support of the coalition government. “Our bonds of loyalty and love with Pakistan are unconditional and everlasting,” he said.

The rally was attended by a large number of senior political leaders, former prime ministers, government ministers, religious scholars, civil society representatives, and citizens, who all praised the Pakistan Armed Forces and welcomed the Pakistan–Saudi defence understanding as a landmark achievement.
