The Philippines tennis phenom Alexandra ‘Alex’ Eala is back in action this week, playing at the 2025 Jingshan Tennis Open, a WTA 125-level event, in Jingshan, China.
The hard-court event runs from 22–28 September.
Eala is the event’s top seed, and the 20-year-old is set to kick off her tournament on Tuesday (23 September) when she faces Aliona Falei.
The highest-ranked Filipina player in history, Eala is currently ranked No. 57 in the world, just one spot shy of her highest career ranking.
In 2025, Eala has impressed, highlighted by a semi-final run at the Miami Open and a second-round appearance at the recent U.S. Open.
