DJI, on Tuesday, unveiled its new wearable free-angle camera, Osmo Nano, which the company says offers a compact magnetic design and flexible viewing angles. DJI said the Osmo Nano is targeted at sports recording, vlogging, and outdoor activities, as the company seeks to expand the use cases of portable imaging devices.

Why it matters: As DJI’s first wearable camera, Osmo Nano marks the company’s entry into a new product category. This launch reflects DJI’s strategy to diversify beyond drones and gimbals into more portable, everyday imaging solutions.

Details: Weighing 52 grams, Osmo Nano features a modular magnetic build, high-end imaging capabilities, and comes with up to 200 minutes of battery life.

  • Osmo Nano features an omnidirectional magnetic interface that supports dual-sided attachment, allowing quick switching between selfie and third-person perspectives. With accessories such as magnetic hat clips, lanyards, chest straps, and headbands, the camera can be mounted on helmet visors, collars, bicycle frames, or even pet collars. It can be attached to the front of a helmet to capture first-person cycling footage, or fixed to a chest strap to record a cooking process—enabling creation without the need to hold the device.
  • Equipped with a 1/1.3-inch Omnivision OV50H sensor and a 4nm main control chip, Osmo Nano supports 4K/60fps HDR video recording and 4K/120fps slow-motion shooting. It offers a dynamic range of up to 13.5 stops, while the night mode enhances image clarity in low-light environments.
  • The 143° ultra-wide lens with RockSteady 3.0 and HorizonLock ensures smooth, stable footage even in intense motion, according to DJI. A 10-bit D-Log M mode expands grading flexibility, while dual DJI Mic support enables professional two-person audio.
  • Osmo Nano works with the DJI Mimo app for real-time preview, beautification, and sports data overlays, and syncs with devices such as Apple Watch. The transmission module supports Wi-Fi 6.0, USB 3.1, and fast-charges the camera to 80% in 20 minutes. The standard kit with 64GB storage is priced at RMB 1,998 ($280).
