Ahead of the premiere of his new series House of Guinness on Netflix on Sept. 25, creator Steven Knight has provided an update on the standalone feature accompanying Season 6 of Peaky Blinders, reportedly titled The Immortal Man and directed by Tom Harper.
In an exclusive chat with Reach publications, the filmmaker revealed that the film will release next year, while confirming the cast and setting: “The movie is done, so that’s in the can. So that’s going to be next year, it’s going to be great. It is set in World War 2, it’s brilliant, it’s great. It’s got Barry Keoghan, who is wonderful, and Cillian (Murphy), and Rebecca Ferguson, and Tim Roth, and it is immense.”
Other cast members include Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck, and Jay Lycurgo.
About ‘House of Guinness’
House of Guinness is an eight-episode series directed by Tom Shankland (“House of Cards”, “The Leftovers”) and Mounia Akl (“Boiling Point”, “The Responder”).
Inspired by the real-world Guinness family, the story explores one of Europe’s most powerful dynasties. It hints at an experience like Succession but adds a retro flavour.
The official logline: “Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the story begins immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children — Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben — as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness.”
The cast features Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, Emily Fairn, Fionn O’Shea, James Norton, Niamh McCormack, Seamus O’Hara, and Michael McElhatton, among others.
