This fall, the boho-chic trend is showing no signs of slowing down. Thanks to labels like Chloé, Zimmermann, and Isabel Marant, free-spirited silhouettes are all of the rage this season—from ruffled mini dresses to lace maxi gowns. Stars like Rihanna and Sienna Miller have already embraced the movement with their easy, flowy styling choices. But leave it to singer Florence Welch to remind us she’s been doing the aesthetic for years—long before it became a hot fad again.
The singer’s look in London yesterday served as a prime example of her enduringly boho wardrobe. Call it her fall-winter approach to the trend: The star stepped out in a black cape and flared trousers, punctuating the outfit with an embroidered wide-collar blouse. Her slouchy little mini bag and oversized gold belt buckle fed into the groovy spirit. The whole look had a real 1970s vibe to it, but felt modern too, tying back into the more pared-back mood of today’s boho dressing.

If we look back at some of Welch’s recent red carpet hits, you’ll see her love of a good boho moment on full display. The singer rarely hits an event without a swishy, floor-length gown—usually designed in a sheer lace or billowy chiffon (and by labels like Valentino and Gucci). At the Kering Caring for Women event in 2023, she donned a pink Gucci gown complete with black lace trim—precisely the kind of frock she would wear to perform in, while running around the stage barefoot with a tambourine in tow.
