Riley Sharpe has been making global headlines for some time already – and he is only ten years old.
The British snowboarding phenom has been tearing up the scene for the last two years, finishing on the podium in big air, slopestyle and halfpipe competitions.
Who is Riley Sharpe?
He started snowboarding at age two, quickly drawing attention to his unusual talent.
“Riley amazes us every day with his hard work and dedication,” said his father, James, to the BBC. “And it is great to see all that hard work pay off for him.”
Take the British Championships, for example, staged in Mayrhofen, Austria, in March, where Riley managed to bring home six medals across the U-12 events.
He earned a whopping 15 points more than 32-year-old competitor Emyr Hafren in slopestyle, finishing eleven seconds faster than the other U-12 racers in snowboard cross.
“Nothing scares me. I can’t wait for next season already,” Riley Sharpe told the BBC.
He is slowly moving up the ranks and has now been selected to be on Great Britain’s Next Generation squad for freestyle snowboarding.
