The LEGO Piranha Plant Set Now Comes With a Free Trial of Nintendo Switch Online

I’m fairly new to the world of adult LEGO. I’d built my fair share of creations with these tiny plastic bricks when I was a kid, but at some point I just stopped playing with LEGO and didn’t think I’d ever really go back. Then just earlier this year I managed to convince myself to buy the LEGO Piranha Plant.

As a long-time fan of Nintendo, the experience was an absolute delight. The pieces were unique and the build itself was just challenging enough to provide hours of concentrated enjoyment. And now that it’s actually put together, this little chompy guy from the Super Mario universe gets to sit next to me on my desk every day.

There are a ton of other awesome LEGO Nintendo sets you can buy, but this particular one is just the right mix of affordable and fun, in my opinion. It’s been discounted below $50 at most major retailers for a while now, but Target has recently included a unique offer that also gets you a free trial of Nintendo Switch Online.

LEGO Piranha Plant Deal at Target

LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant

Get a 14-day free trial of Nintendo Switch Online with a Target Circle account.

The actual retail price of the Piranha Plant set is $59.99, which is what you’d pay if you bought it directly from the LEGO Store. However, it’s been discounted at other retailers. According to CamelCamelCamel, the price dropped down to $47.99 back in October of last year and has pretty much remained there since. So while this discount at Target is nice, it isn’t anything new. What is new, is you can now get a 14-day free trial of Nintendo Switch Online with your purchase. To redeem the offer you’ll need to be a Target Circle member, which is free to join.

Nintendo offers its own free trial for Switch Online memberships, but it only lasts a total of seven days. So really what you’d be getting here is an extra week to try it out to see if you like it. While it certainly isn’t the greatest deal in the world, it does make Target the best place to buy the Piranha Plant set right now. If you’re already planning on picking one up, you might as well scoop up a free trial while you’re at it. I own this LEGO set and have a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online and confirm that both of those things are totally worth the money.

More LEGO Sets on Sale at Target

If you’re looking for more discounts on popular LEGO sets, the good news is that Target is currently having a sale on a bunch of them. From now until September 27 you can get 15% off several sets that have rarely been discounted prior. This sale includes the upcoming Gizmo set and the iconic Hocus Pocus cottage, just in time for spooky season.
