Korea Open 2025: Chou Tien-chen calls taxi for Loh Kean Yew in quarter-finals

Loh Kean Yew was bounced from the Korea Open 2025 after a 21-18, 21-16 quarter-final defeat at the hands of Chou Tien-chen on Friday (26 September).

The star Singaporean shuttler dropped the first game after things were square 14-14. From there, Chou won three straight points and never looked back to take the set.

The second game was equally close. The 35-year-old Chou never had more than a five-point lead but never trailed either.

The Chinese Taipei veteran grabbed the last four points of the match unchallenged to go through in a relatively seamless 42 minutes. Chou will face top seed Anders Antonsen in the semi-finals.

Chou now has a 5-4 edge in head-to-heads against Loh, who has just one title on the year in Taipei.
