The BMX racing Olympic champion launched “Fundación Mariana Pajón” in 2013 to contribute to social causes and offer children opportunities in sport to redefine their lives and build a better future.
The programme combined forces with “Fundación Fraternidad Medellín,” – which has 65 years of experience working in Antioquia promoting education, social sensitivity, and culture – to launch the “10de10” programme.
Other initiatives Pajón has engaged in include “El Gran Fondito”, which is an event she hosts aimed at kids aged 2-14. The event consists of training sessions and competitions, and provides a fun environment in which to train in BMX biking, mountain biking, running or skating. The next Gran Fondito will take place on 11-12 October, in Barranquilla, Colombia.
Pajón believes that supporting athletes from Antioquia is just the starting point, and her dream is to one day support the athletes throughout the country.
