RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan and Russian armies are holding a counter-terrorism exercise, Joint Exercise Druzhba-VIII. It started from September 15 and would continue till Sept 27.According to a news release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Vice Chief of General Staff attended the ceremony as the chief guest from the Pakistani side, while senior Russian military officials were also present. Troops from both countries demonstrated the highest standards of professional excellence during the exercise.
The exercise aimed to refine drills, procedures, and techniques involved in counter-terrorism operations, with a focus on drone warfare, combat in built-up areas, and countering improvised explosive devices through joint training. The ISPR added that the exercise also seeks to further strengthen the historic military-to-military relations between the two friendly countries.
