This Elden Ring and The Witcher 3 mash-up may very well be the coolest thing I’ve laid my eyes on this year (which is why I am already installing it as we speak).
You know what was a great game? Elden Ring. You know what was also a great game? The Witcher 3.
Both of these games are often held in the same breath when people debate about the topic of the greatest games ever produced, and for very well-deserved reasons.
So, I guess that means that combining the two would result in something incredible, right? But which way around would you do it?
Well, Nexus Mods user therealsqueam has decided that putting The Witcher 3 into Elden Ring is probably the smartest course of action… and good lord, were they right.
Witcher – Moveset Mod over on Nexus is a mod for Elden Ring that takes all of Geralt’s most famous moves from The Witcher 3 and transplants them directly into a brand new, custom moveset.
There is nothing I can tell you here that would be better than simply showing you the YouTube video of therealsqueam’s mod in action, because this honestly needs to be seen to be believed.
Geralt’s moves look borderline one-to-one here, and the mod even includes two separate swords (including Geralt’s iconic silver sword) with slightly different movesets. It even comes with Geralt’s most famous Signs, including Aard, Axii and Quen.
Seems I’m not the only one who is impressed by this either, judging by the glowing praise in the comments on Nexus.
“Wow, this looks incredible! I’m redownloading the game right now, just to try out this mod!” commented user InherentIrrelevance.
“My biggest gripe with Elden Ring is that the moveset tends to be pretty limited, I think you’ve done a good job in making a balanced moveset with a purpose”, replied user LeonCCA.
“You even nerfed Quen from Witcher 3 which was extremely strong there. I’m also a fan of games like Nioh or Ninja Gaiden where you have a lot more depth in terms of movesets, and this is honestly a fantastic mod in bringing that kind of gameplay to Elden Ring. Nice job!”
“Holy s#*! this looks so peak… i love witcher 3 and it’s music, i need to try this ASAP”, commented user lastvanity.
I started reinstalling Elden Ring the second I watched that video, because I also have to try this one out immediately.
Hopefully, this will make the wait for The Witcher 4 a tiny bit more bearable. Maybe next time modders can return the favour, and mod some of Elden Ring’s most famous weapons into CD Projekt RED’s upcoming game too.
