Reebok x PlayStation Sneaker Collab Marks 30 Years of Gaming Legacy

Reebok is tapping into console nostalgia this fall, partnering with PlayStation on a sneaker collection tied to the brand’s 30th anniversary.

The three-style capsule matches archival Reebok silhouettes to the regions where Sony’s first PlayStation debuted in the mid-’90s. The InstaPump Fury 94 nods to Japan, the Pump Omni Zone II to the U.S. and the Workout Plus to the U.K., each carrying console cues and anniversary gray palettes.

On the InstaPump Fury 94, a pump ball stamped with “Press Play” pairs with a tongue label modeled after a PlayStation memory card, while hidden text records the 1994 launch date in Japan.

The U.S. edition Pump Omni Zone II brings a custom pump ball in PlayStation’s original color scheme, lace dubraes styled after console buttons and a 1995 launch callout tucked inside the tongue.

The U.K.’s Workout Plus incorporates PlayStation’s circle, triangle and square symbols as lace charms, with a hidden September 1995 stamp and an internal arch band for fit.

Packaging mirrors the original console’s release, with limited-edition gray boxes and co-branded hangtags. “This collection is a time machine,” said Mubi Ali, Reebok’s global senior product marketing manager, describing it as a return to an after-school moment of grunge playlists, dial-up internet and the rise of PlayStation culture.

The project extends a string of pop culture collaborations from Reebok. In May, the brand partnered with Universal and DreamWorks on a kids’ line for “Gabby’s Dollhouse,” complete with glitter tongues and collectible window-box packaging. In August, it reinterpreted the Campio Extra and Club C 85 for the 30th anniversary of “Clueless,” printed in yellow plaid with lace-on accessories nodding to Cher Horowitz’s wardrobe. The PlayStation capsule continues Reebok’s habit of filtering pop culture through its archive, this time with console codes on era-defining sneakers.

The Reebok x PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection launches in mid-October in limited quantities across Japan, the U.S. and the U.K., available through select retailers and Reebok channels.
