SWIT has introduced a lineup of USB-C dummy battery accessories aimed at simplifying camera power in the field. The new range includes dummy batteries for Sony NP-FZ100 and Canon LP-E6 platforms, a dual-output NP-F dummy, and a compact USB-C to D-tap converter. The goal is to provide streamlined power delivery using USB-C PD or D-tap sources. This helps cut down on bulky bricks and messy cable runs, especially for mirrorless rigs, livestream setups, or mobile productions.
As more cameras and monitors adopt USB-C, powering gear efficiently without juggling battery swaps or wall outlets becomes more practical. SWIT’s new accessories are built to take advantage of that shift. They offer regulated voltage and work with lots of USB-C power sources. Handy for mobile or location-based setups.
SWIT, established in 1996, is known for its cinema and broadcast power tools. CineD has recently covered several of their key product releases, including the K15 and K21 high-brightness field monitors, the modular VOLTA floor battery system, and the CIMO V-mount battery line. These new dummy battery accessories slot into the lower-voltage, lightweight end of their growing ecosystem.

SWIT USB-C power accessories
- DB-FZ100 for Sony NP-FZ100
- DB-E6P for Canon LP-E6/LP-E6N/LP-E6NH/LP-E6P
- DB-DF570 dual NP-F dummy with USB-C and D-tap input
- BC-PD100 bi-directional USB-C to D-tap converter

The DB-FZ100 delivers 8.4V at 3A for Sony FX3, FX30, A7, and A9 series, and other NP-FZ100-based mirrorless cameras. It is powered via USB-C PD input and aims to keep Sony hybrid shooters running through longer takes and external rig setups.

The DB-E6P supports the full range of Canon LP-E6 variants, covering everything from EOS R5 and R6 to the 5D and 6D DSLR lines, plus BMPCC 4K and 6K and Z CAM bodies. Like the Sony version, it regulates USB-C power to a clean 8.4V 3A output.

The DB-DF570 is more geared toward accessory power. It features a dual dummy NP-F form factor with two 8.4V 8A outputs, enough to run a monitor and wireless system at the same time. It also includes a 36W USB-C output and LED input voltage display, and can be fed by either USB-C or D-tap.

The BC-PD100 is a flexible tool that works both ways: use it to power USB-C devices from a D-tap battery, or charge a D-tap battery from a USB-C PD charger. It supports up to 100W of output and mounts easily to rigs with a standard 1/4-inch screw.
A crowded power accessory market
While these products are useful, they enter a crowded market. Dummy batteries with USB-C PD input are already available from brands like Kondor Blue, ZILR, Tilta, SmallRig, and PortKeys. Many offer similar regulated voltage outputs, compact builds, and D-tap options. What sets SWIT’s lineup apart is the tight integration with their larger battery and monitoring ecosystem, which may appeal to users already invested in SWIT’s gear.
Still, competition is stiff. Pricing is in line with the market, and performance in the field will likely determine whether these accessories become go-to options or just another set of adapters in the bag.
On a personal note, while USB-C is great to have, locking connectors like 2-pin LEMOs still feel more reliable on professional sets. With power banks everywhere and cameras becoming smaller, however, the appeal of bulky pro gear is fading fast. Honestly, it’d be nice to see a standard, locking USB-C connector that can survive the usual chaos on set.

Pricing and availability
The DB-FZ100 and DB-E6P each retail for €29 (Euros). The DB-DF570 lists for €39 (Euros), while the BC-PD100 comes in at €49 (Euros). At current exchange rates as of July 2025, that puts pricing between roughly $31 and $53 US dollars, depending on the model.
All four accessories are available now through SWIT distributors and dealers. You can find additional specs and images on the official product page.
