“This commitment is manifested in our ability to drive the decarbonization of the real economy and structure innovative financial solutions for green infrastructure projects, even in the most complex environments,” added Anselmo Andrade, Head of BBVA CIB in the United Kingdom.
In Spain, BBVA was named Spain’s Best Bank for Customer Experience, an award that coincides with the launch of its new corporate identity and the complete redesign of BBVA’s mobile app to make it even more intuitive and functional for customers. According to BBVA’s Head of Retail Banking in Spain, Gonzalo Rodríguez: “Putting the customer first is just not a priority for BBVA, it underpins its entire strategy”, adding that “this accolade is a further show of the bank’s firm commitment to continue moving toward a more human, personalized and efficient experience.”
Staying in Spain, BBVA walked away with three further awards: Spain’s Best Bank for Large Corporates, Spain’s Best Bank for Sustainable Finance, and Spain’s Best Investment Bank for Financing. In the words of José Ramón Vizmanos, Head of BBVA CIB Spain: “At BBVA CIB, we support companies with a long-term vision, fostering lasting relationships based on trust, innovation and sustainability. Our winning combination of global reach, local presence, and sector-specific expertise enables us to structure high-impact, tailor-made financial solutions, even in the most complex environments. The leadership we are now being recognized for is the product of a client-centric approach, focused on delivering a tangible, sustained impact on their growth and transformation.”
Last but not least, Garanti BBVA, the Group’s Turkish subsidiary, has strengthened its regional influence by earning the title of Central & Eastern Europe’s Best Bank for Sustainable Finance and CEE’s Best Bank for Diversity & Inclusion, in addition to receiving the Türkiye Best Bank for Sustainable Finance award. “We are committed to generating systemic, long-term value by integrating ESG considerations into our business model. With this approach, we go beyond financial services, and contribute to sustainable development across society, environment and the economy. We are proud to be recognized by Euromoney as this is a strong indication that our vision resonates on an international level,” said Sinem Edige, head of CIB at Garanti BBVA.
The Euromoney Awards for Excellence have been held annually since 1992 and were the first event to recognize outstanding feats in the global financial industry. In this latest 2025 edition, Euromoney received more than 1,500 submissions from banks from nearly 100 different countries.
