Stage 15 route of the 2025 Tour de France – Sunday 20 July
As the peloton moves on from the Pyrenees, the 169.3 km stage begins in Muret, south of Toulouse, with 70 km of flat terrain interrupted by a few small rises, none exceeding 250 metres in elevation.
Most of the total 2,400m of climbing is concentrated in the second half of the route: the first categorised ascent of the day is the Côte de Saint-Ferréol (Category 3, 1.7 km at 7%). Around 10 km earlier, sprinters chasing the green jersey will have the opportunity to contest the intermediate sprint at Saint-Félix-Lauragais.
The route then enters the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park, where two more climbs feature: the Côte de Sorèze (Category 3, 6.2 km at 5.5%) and the steeper Pas du Sant (Category 2, 2.9 km at 10.2%).
A long descent towards the south leads to a flat finish in Carcassonne, a familiar Tour destination. It was there in 2021 that Mark Cavendish matched Eddy Merckx’s all-time record for stage wins, claiming the 34th victory of his Tour de France career. The Manxman would go on to break the Belgian’s long-standing record on Stage 5 of last year’s race.
