HUIZHOU (China) – The exciting action at FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2025 has stolen hearts and minds in Shenzhen, but the rest day of the tournament provided the perfect opportunity to shift focus to a remarkable fixture in another city in the Guangdong province of China.
FIBA Vice President and FIBA Oceania President David Reid, along with FIBA Media & Marketing Services Director General Frank Leenders, led a delegation that took advantage of the unique chance to tour the production site that FIBA Official Partner Ganten has established on Luofu Mountain, nearby the city of Huizhou, Guangdong.
Meihua Wang, General Manager of Ganten Brand Center, welcomed the FIBA delegates to the facility as the visitors were shown to the entire production process of Ganten, who is Asia’s leading mineral water supplier. The visit was commemorated with an exchange of gifts as a token of the mutual appreciation of this successful global collaboration.
The FIBA delegation presented their hosts with a photo collage that showcases Ganten’s exposure in past FIBA events and bears the caption ‘long-lasting partnership’. Ganten presented their visitors with a traditional Chinese calligraphy that reads ‘water as the witness, marching forwards to the basketball footprint together’
Ganten also prepared fun quizzes related to the partnership of the two parties, as well as a traditional Chinese ‘bleaching paint fan’ activity to add a whimsical tone to the occasion.
The Luofu Mountain site was Ganten’s first mineral water production base and has undergone decades of development and expansion. It is now equipped with 16 fully-automated production lines, each capable of producing up to 72,000 bottles per hour, and integrates production, tourism, leisure and culture, making it a rare example of a large-scale ecological water culture destination in China.
Luofu Mountain is designated a ‘Natural Oxygen Bar’, a term used in China to denote places of exceptional ecological importance, and is home to a relatively untouched natural ecosystem.
This means that Ganten’s products benefit of high-quality water and soil, enabling the brand to remain committed to strict standards, providing premium natural mineral water to the market.
At the same time, it promotes water culture through open-site tours, water education programs, and cross-disciplinary science outreach, helping to raise awareness of healthy drinking practices.
