Four weeks of intense work await Diego Pablo Simeone’s squad, who will kick off their La Liga campaign on Sunday 17 August against Espanyol.
The first team will raise the curtain on the 2025/26 pre-season this Monday, 21 July. On that day, four weeks of intense preparation will begin, all with a view to the league opener, in which we’ll face RCD Espanyol on Sunday 17 August at 21:30 CEST in Barcelona.
Early on Monday morning, our players will undergo medical tests at the Majadahonda Training Centre and will then head to Los Ángeles de San Rafael, where they will hold their first training session that same afternoon at 18:30 CEST. As usual, the Hotel Segovia Sierra de Guadarrama will once again serve as the team’s base during their stay in the province of Segovia, where they will remain until Saturday 26 July.
After a rest day, the team will resume training in Majadahonda on Monday 28 July. Following six days of work, on Sunday 3 August they will travel to the Estádio do Dragão to take on FC Porto, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 CEST.
This friendly will be the first of the pre-season, which will also include a trip to St James’ Park on Saturday 9 August, where we’ll face Newcastle United at 17:00 CEST. Between the two matches, Diego Pablo Simeone’s side will continue training in Majadahonda. After returning from England, they will complete their preparations there ahead of the start of the league season.
