After Riot Games announced that its 2v2 fighting game a la Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat would be available to the public in 2025, players were excited. That was, of course, a long time ago, and months of silence lead eager fans to believe that the date would be unachievable… until now.
Announced on a surprise drop trailer, 2XKO is going to be released to the public slowly, but it’ll first begin as a Closed Beta for the time being (much like the first two Alpha tests). As an invite-only event at the beginning, players will need ot keep their eyes peeled on their registered e-mails to find an invitation to enter, but that’ll only last for a little while.
Executive Producer Tom Cannon announces that the plan is that, from here on out, 2XKO will remain available forever, slowly moving into its Open Beta period and then finally inching closer to release. Alpha Lab 1 and Alpha Lab 2 players will already be part of the first wave of Closed Beta release, with more invites being sent out gradually.
Officially, 2XKO will be seeing its closed release that’ll lead to public on the 9th of September. If you want to sign up, you can do so through the official page right here.
