Becky Lynch, the WWE wrestler, had an eventful summer after filming and will appear in a role in the new Happy Gilmore 2 movie, a sequel to the 1996 film Happy Gilmore.
Lynch shared a video of herself with a golf club on Instagram in January 2025 using the hashtag #HappyGilmore2 and tagging Netflix to announce her role in the sequel, which will premiere on the streaming platform on Friday, July 25.
That cast is insane. The world I got to play in was ridiculous and wonderful and incredibly fun,” Lynch told Variety. “The time on that set was amazing, seeing Adam Sandler and how he conducts himself as such a star in that world, but also so kind to everybody.”
While Lynch’s specific role in Happy Gilmore 2 remains unconfirmed, fans are eager to see her portrayal of a supporting character in this highly anticipated sequel.

According to WWE, Lynch, who has dubbed herself as “The Man,” gained popularity and made history in 2019 by winning the Royal Rumble and pinning Ronda Rousey in the first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event. This achievement made her both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion. Lynch then became the longest-reigning Raw Women’s Champion in WWE history before stepping away from the sport to have a child in 2020.
Lynch returned as “Big Time Becks” and became the Triple Crown Champion in 2023. This was followed by an absence that saw her return at WrestleMania 41 alongside Lyra Valkyria to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
