NAB holds open court to address complaints

LAHORE, Jul 26 (APP):National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore Director General Ghulam Safdar Shah convened an open court to address grievances of victims affected by various high-profile scams, here on Saturday.

The event draw the significant participation from victims of various major corruption scandals which reflected growing public trust in NAB’s grievance redressal system.

Affectees of the Future Vision Scam, Bahria Cuisines Scam, Omega Housing Scheme, New Lahore City, Pak-Arab Housing Society, Khayaban-e-Amin, Eden Garden, and Professional Cooperative Housing Society came forward to present their cases and seek institutional intervention.

In his address, DG NAB said, “The Bureau is firmly committed to transparency, justice, and the protection of public interest.” He announced NAB Lahore’s first major arrest under the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA), calling it a landmark step in the fight against financial crimes.

Responding to a large number of public complaints, the DG revealed that a formal inquiry has now been launched into the Future Vision Scam. To prevent further financial exploitation, he ordered that individuals involved in fraudulent Ponzi schemes be immediately placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).

The DG said that all actions are being carried out in accordance with the directives of Chairman NAB, whose leadership continues to guide NAB’s citizen-focused approach. He stressed that NAB remains committed to bringing all culprits to justice and ensuring full compensation for the victims. He further noted that NAB’s current open court model encourages direct interaction between affectees and housing society officials to promote practical, outcome-oriented resolutions. Weekly case monitoring under his supervision is helping ensure transparency and sustained momentum.

Participants in the session appreciated the DG’s proactive leadership and praised the regular holding of open courts as a true reflection of Chairman NAB’s public-centric vision.
