Tournament debutants South Sudan delivered one of the standout performances of the basketball tournament so far, rallying from a 19-point deficit to upset Egypt 75–65 and book their spot in the last eight. Mozambique also advanced convincingly, cruising past Guinea 91–38.
Senegal, a continental powerhouse, asserted their dominance with an 80–37 win over Rwanda in a rematch of the 2026 World Cup Pre-Qualifiers.
Cameroon rounded out the quarter-final field after defeating Angola 85–64, securing their third consecutive appearance in the last eight.
