Lamine Yamal has now scored wearing the FC Barcelona number 10 shirt. Two quality goals in the first half of the team’s 7-3 win over FC Seoul were his first in the jersey as the player noted after the game. “It’s special to score with this number,” admitted the La Masia product at full time.
The game against Vissel Kobe last Sunday saw his debut in the famous jersey but we had to wait until Thursday for him to find the net wearing the 10. He did so twice in the opening 45 minutes before being replaced by coach Hansi Flick in the second half.
First goal early
The game was only 14 minutes old when Lamine put Barça up 2-0 with an effort from the edge of the box that the keeper parried but could not prevent from nestling in the back of the net, his first goal with the ’10’.
Just before half time Lamine added his second to give Barça a 3-2 lead at the break, holding off a defender and finishing crisply into the corner after a great pass from Dani Olmo. The future of the number 10 shirt at Barça looks secure if events in Seoul are anything to go by.
