Nintendo announced on Friday, August 1, that prices changes are coming to some of its systems and accessories starting next week.
In a post on the official Nintendo website, the company said the price changes will go into effect in the United States on Monday, August 3. The announcement noted the price change will be “based on market conditions,” but did not officially say whether the prices will rise or drop.
The pricing update will also only impact the original Nintendo Switch family of systems, the company said. That includes the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch OLED, Nintendo Switch Lite and unspecified accessories, along with certain Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, select amiibo, and the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo.
At this time, Nintendo said the prices for Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, physical and digital Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 games, as well as Nintendo Switch Online memberships will not be impacted.
But Nintendo did note that “price adjustments may be necessary in the future.”
The announcement from Nintendo comes one day after the White House announced modifications to the reciprocal tariffs being enacted globally. Japan is set to face 15% tariffs from the U.S. starting on August 7.
