DLA Piper advises OCU Group on entry into Australia with All Energy Contracting acquisition

Global law firm DLA Piper has advised OCU Group, a leading UK-based energy transition, utilities and infrastructure provider, on acquiring a majority stake in All Energy Contracting (AEC), a multidisciplinary contractor specialising in renewables and energy infrastructure services.

Headquartered in Brisbane, Australia, AEC delivers solar, wind, storage, civil, and power infrastructure services across Australia and New Zealand’s growing clean energy sector.

Established in 2018, AEC has built a strong reputation for providing safe, timely, and technically assured projects across the entire project lifecycle. Following the acquisition, the company will continue to operate under its existing brand and remain under the leadership of its current management team.

Australia is a well-supported, high-growth energy market, with significant planned investment across generation, transmission and storage. This acquisition marks OCU’s first international step, strengthening its position in the non-regulated sector while creating opportunities in the regulated space, including participating in long-term grid reinforcement programs. It also positions OCU to play a key role in supporting Australia’s energy transition and the growing demand for specialist power infrastructure services.

DLA Piper advised OCU Group on the entire transaction, providing legal support across due diligence, negotiating, drafting of transaction documents and completion.

The cross-border and multi-practice DLA Piper team from Australia and New Zealand was led by corporate partner Lyndon Masters with support from senior associate Rohan Shukla and solicitors Thomas Keyser and Amelia Coleman. Additional support was provided by partner Reuben Woods and senior associate Steph McQuaid from New Zealand.

Lyndon Masters commented: This partnership demonstrates a strong strategic alignment between OCU and AEC, laying the foundation for impactful collaboration in Australia’s energy transition. With momentum building across the sector, we have supported OCU’s entry into the Australian market, providing it with a strong platform for future growth in the region.”
