GTA 6’s performance on consoles has been a hotly debated subject, with history pointing towards a PS5 version locked to 30 FPS. But according to a new leak, PlayStation engineers are reportedly assisting Rockstar in achieving the desired 60 FPS mark.
Rockstar’s games have historically released with a 30 FPS target on consoles. Take GTA 4, for example, which suffered from dips into the 20s on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The tradition continued with GTA 5, which persisted with the 30 FPS target on the PS4 and Xbox One, despite technically being an older-generation title.
The same goes for Red Dead Redemption 2, and even the ‘Pro’ variants of both console platforms didn’t receive a 60 FPS patch for Rockstar’s western epic.
The historical context, paired with the PS5’s recent performance woes, is reason enough for most fans to expect another 30 FPS console port in GTA 6. However, a new leak suggests that Rockstar is aiming to hit that glorious 60 FPS mark on the PS5 Pro, thanks to a bit of assistance from the console developer, PlayStation.
As revealed by @DetectiveSeeds on X, “GTA 6 has been, and continues to hit 60fps while being optimized for the PS5 Pro on multiple graphical settings.”
“PS engineers are assisting with the optimization due to the new tech being implemented and rolled out with a current target date of May 2026,” he added. The “new tech” is reportedly an upgraded version of PlayStation’s proprietary upscaling technology called PSSR, which is only available on PS5 Pro machines. The leaker also claimed that GTA 6 will feature multiple graphical options on the PS5 Pro, a luxury enabled by a potential marketing deal between PlayStation and Rockstar.
It’s worth noting that the marketing deal isn’t officially confirmed, and the details surrounding it emerged from the same leaker. So, it appears that Detective Seeds is sticking to his guns on this front.
Interestingly enough, they also mentioned that PlayStation is assisting Rockstar on other games that are releasing before GTA 6. This claim appears to fuel the rumors of a PS5 patch for Red Dead Redemption 2, which could finally upgrade the game’s visuals and frame rates.
Of course, we will have to wait and see what happens, especially since all these details remain speculative as of now. With that being said, would you upgrade to a PS5 Pro just to play GTA 6 at 60 FPS? Be sure to let us know in the comments.

“When I came to the Tour, I never thought about being on the podium or fighting for the podium. I knew I am in a good shape and now I’m third and I have the white jersey, I can only be happy.
We are a team and we discuss things together. So far, I’ve showed that I’m in a good shape but Primoz [Roglic] is the leader. We are super close. He will tell me what to do and what’s the plan for the coming days. He showed yesterday in the TT that he can perform really good and I believe that he is a guy for the third week and for sure we’ll see something great from him.
It was sad to hear [about Remco Evenepoel retiring from the Tour]. He was one of the main favourites for the podium. I feel sorry for him but we need to focus on our ambitions. The team’s goal is to be on the podium of the Tour, and we have to see who will be fighting for it, Primoz or me.
Two weeks are almost done but everyone knows the third week is the hardest. The stages look very tough with a lot of climbing. We have to see how the legs are. I hope they stay the same.”
At least 32 people were killed and more than 100 injured on Saturday morning when Israeli troops opened fire on crowds of Palestinians seeking food from two aid distribution hubs in southern Gaza, according to witnesses and hospital officials.
People on the scene described it as “a massacre”, and claimed Israel Defense Forces fired “indiscriminately” at the groups of Palestinians – reported to be mostly young men – who were making their way towards the hubs run by the US- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
Most of the deaths, which civil defence agency spokesperson Mahmud Bassal attributed to “Israeli gunfire”, occurred in the Teina area, about two miles from a GHF aid distribution centre east of Khan Younis.
Medical sources told the Israeli newspaper Haaretz that many of the wounded are in a serious condition, while witnesses at the scene said many of the dead and injured were children and teenagers.
The Nasser hospital in Khan Younis received 25 bodies, as well as dozens of wounded people, while nine others were killed near a centre north-west of Rafah, the civil defence agency said.
Dr Atef al-Hout, director of Nasser hospital, described the situation as “an unprecedented number of casualties in a very short time”, warning that the actual death toll could be higher.
“We’re unable to provide adequate medical treatment as we lack equipment, medicine and personnel,” he told Haaretz.
In a statement, GHF, which was set up to replace the traditional UN-led aid distribution system in Gaza, said there were no incidents at or near its sites. It said the reported Israeli shootings occurred far from its sites and hours before they opened. “We have repeatedly warned aid seekers not to travel to our sites overnight and early morning hours,” the group said.
The Israeli military said it had fired “warning shots” near Rafah after a group of suspects approached troops and ignored calls to keep their distance. It said it was investigating reports of casualties, but noted the incident occurred overnight when the distribution centre was closed.
Mahmoud Mokeimar told Associated Press reporters he was walking with masses of people – mostly young men – towards the food hub. Troops fired warning shots as the crowds advanced, before opening fire on the marching people.
“It was a massacre,” he said. “The occupation opened fire at us indiscriminately.” He said he managed to escape but saw at least three motionless bodies lying on the ground, and many other wounded people fleeing.
Akram Aker said troops fired machine guns mounted on tanks and drones. He said the shooting happened between 5am and 6am.
“They encircled us and started firing directly at us,” he told AP. He said he saw many casualties lying on the ground.

Sana’a al-Jaberi, a 55-year-old woman, said she saw many dead and wounded as she fled the area.
“We shouted: ‘food, food’, but they didn’t talk to us. They just opened fire,” she said.
Four other witnesses also accused Israeli troops of opening fire, according to news agency AFP.
“They started shooting at us and we lay down on the ground. Tanks and Jeeps came, soldiers got out of them and started shooting,” said Tamer Abu Akar, 24.
More than 2 million Palestinians in Gaza are living through a catastrophic humanitarian crisis and the entire population is at risk of famine, according to food security experts, while distribution at the GHF sites has been described as “lethal chaos”.
Last Wednesday, 19 people were killed in a crush in a stampede near a GHF hub and one person was stabbed. GHF blamed the incident on Hamas, describing it as “a calculated provocation, part of a pattern of targeted efforts by Hamas and its allies to dismantle our life-saving operations”.
Dr Mohamed Saker, the head of Nasser’s nursing department, told AP that most of the people who died on Saturday were shot in the head and chest, and that some were placed in the already overwhelmed intensive care unit.
“The situation is difficult and tragic,” he said, adding that the hospital desperately needs medical supplies to treat the daily flow of casualties.
Israeli and Hamas negotiators have been discussing an interim truce in the Gaza war, which would see 10 surviving hostages and the bodies of 18 others returned to Israel in exchange for the release of a number of Palestinians.
On Friday, President Donald Trump said at a dinner that 10 hostages would “very shortly” be released from Gaza, but provided no further details.
Speaking to lawmakers at the White House, Trump – who has been predicting for weeks that a US-led ceasefire and hostage-release deal was imminent – said: “We got most of the hostages back. We’re going to have another 10 coming very shortly, and we hope to have that finished quickly.”
Georgia stunned the Boks with an early score from a driving maul in the opening five minutes, but the world champions took it on the chin, got their legs back and scored four unanswered tries on the trot.
Two of those came from Van der Merwe, one of three players making their Test debut in the match, while another debutant, Boan Venter, opened the scoring.
Canan Moodie also finished in style following a blistering break by scrumhalf Grant Williams. Unfortunately Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu missed the first three conversions.

Milo Manheim, Meg Donnelly looks back nine years of friendship
Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly got candid about their nearly decade long friendship.
Both the stars first met on set on Disney Zombies which premiered in 2018.
While discussing the latest instalment of the franchise, Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, with the People Magazine, the two actors dished about their close bond and how they evolved over the past couple of years.
“I think that Meg has grown a lot more confident throughout these years,” Manheim said.
Donnelly echoed the sentiment, adding, “I was gonna say your confidence!”
“We were really trying to fit in, you know, the first movie. And then I think [at] this point, both of us are really kind of setting the vibe [on set]. We’ve taken that responsibility, and I think we’ve set a pretty good vibe on set,” the School Spirits star added.
Donnelly chimed in, saying, “We’ve grown so much since then. We met when we were like 16,” she continued, “It’s been almost 10 years, so that’s been like all the crazy milestones of a young person’s life.”
Previously, in conversation with the outlet, the duo revealed that the upcoming instalment is the “final goodbye” for their beloved characters Zed and Addison.
Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires is currently available for streaming on Disney+.
Patients with nonmetastatic esophageal cancer who received FLOT chemotherapy achieved a 3-year OS rate of 61.1% in an analysis of the phase 3 ESOPEC trial.
Perioperative chemotherapy with fluorouracil, leucovorin, oxaliplatin, and docetaxel (FLOT) chemotherapy demonstrated improved survival and better systemic tumor control, reducing distant tumor recurrences, when compared with carboplatin and paclitaxel (CROSS), in patients with nonmetastatic esophageal adenocarcinoma, as shown in results from the phase 3 ESOPEC trial (NCT02509286) published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.1
With a median follow-up of 56 months, the 3-year overall survival (OS) rates were 61.1% in the FLOT group vs 55.9% in the CROSS group (HR, 0.71; 95% CI, 0.53-0.97; P = .030). Eighty and 98 patients, in the FLOT and CROSS groups, respectively, who underwent tumor resection died; 65 and 81 patients died with tumor recurrence, and 15 and 7 died without evidence of recurrence.
The 3-year cumulative incidence rates of death with recurrence were 32.3% in the FLOT group and 34.9% in the CROSS group (HR, 0.70; 95% CI, 0.50-0.98; P = .040); the 3-year cumulative incidence rates of death without evidence of recurrence were 6.6% and 9.2%, respectively (HR, 0.79; 95% CI, 0.38-1.65; P = .53).
The 3-year recurrence-free survival (RFS) rate was 54.5% in the FLOT group vs 39.0% in the CROSS group (HR, 0.67; 95% CI, 0.51-0.89; P = .005); the median RFS was 47 months (95% CI, 28-not estimable) vs 19 months (95% CI, 15-27), respectively.
The 3-year cumulative incidence of locoregional recurrence was 20.2% in the FLOT group and 17.4% in the CROSS group (HR, 1.00; 95% CI, 0.62-1.61; P = .99); of these patients, locoregional recurrence was evident in 19 vs 15 patients, respectively (HR, 1.03; 95% CI, 0.51-2.06; P = .94), and regional recurrence was evident in 29 vs 27 patients (HR, 0.89; 95% CI, 0.52-1.52; P = .68). Further, distant recurrence occurred with a 3-year cumulative incidence rate of 31.5% in the FLOT group and 47.2% in the CROSS group (HR, 0.59; 95% CI, 0.43-0.82; P = .002).
Common sites of recurrence such as distant lymphatic (HR, 0.60; 95% CI, 0.34 to 1.05; P = .074), hematogenous (HR, 0.59; 95% CI, 0.37 to 0.92; P = .021), and pleural and peritoneal (HR, 0.63; 95% CI, 0.36-1.09; P = .098) metastases, were less common with FLOT compared with CROSS. Distant recurrences occurred without simultaneous local or regional recurrences, with a 3-year cumulative incidence of 20.4% vs 34.4%, respectively (HR, 0.53; 95% CI, 0.36-0.79; P = .002).
“These results indicate that CROSS had insufficient effects on distant recurrence compared with FLOT and that the increased mortality is a consequence of lower systemic antitumor efficacy,” wrote lead study author Florian Lordick, MD, of the department of Medicine II, at University Cancer Center Leipzig, Cancer Center Central Germany, University of Leipzig medical Center, in Leipzig, Germany, and coauthors, in the analysis.1“In conclusion, perioperative chemotherapy with FLOT and preoperative chemoradiotherapy with CROSS resulted in comparable locoregional recurrence rates and significantly lower distant recurrence rates in favor of FLOT.”
This analysis included a total of 435 patients who were randomly assigned to receive either FLOT and surgery (n = 221) or CROSS and surgery (n = 217). In this analysis, eligible patients had cT1 cN+ cM0 or cT2 to cT4a cNany cM0 EAC, and underwent tumor resection in the ESOPEC trial.
Inclusion criteria for the ESOPEC trial included histologically verified adenocarcinoma of the esophagus; an age of 18 years or more; no prior abdominal or thoracic radiotherapy; an ECOG performance status from 0 to 2; and adequate cardiac, bone marrow, respiratory, renal, and liver function.2
Exclusion criteria included tumors of squamous or other non-adenocarcinoma histology; advanced inoperable or metastatic esophageal adenocarcinoma; prior chemotherapy for cancer; clinically significant cardiac disease; clinically significant lung disease; gastric carcinoma; and peripheral neuropathy of grade 2 and higher.
The primary end point of this analysis was OS. Secondary end points included cause-specific mortality, RFS, local recurrence, regional recurrence, and distant recurrence.
The investigators noted undetected distant metastases as a limitation of the study because PET/CT and staging laparoscopy were not mandatory, and thus not performed for all before study inclusion.

Muay Thai may have originated in Thailand, but “the art of eight limbs” has evolved into distinct regional styles that showcase dramatically different approaches to the ancient martial art.
You’ll witness this stylistic clash on full display when Dutch-Surinamese striker Regian “The Immortal” Eersel defends his ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title against British destroyer George “G-Unit” Jarvis at ONE Fight Night 34 on Prime Video.
The bout goes down Friday, August 1, in U.S. primetime live from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, featuring two athletes who represent completely different schools of Muay Thai philosophy – Dutch pressure versus U.K. power.
With that said, here’s how these two distinct regional approaches have shaped modern Muay Thai.
Dutch Style: Pressure And Combinations
The Dutch approach emerged when Muay Thai arrived in the Netherlands in the 1970s and 1980s. Dutch fighters, many with strong boxing backgrounds, adapted “the art of eight limbs” to emphasize aggressive forward pressure and devastating combinations.
This style is perfectly embodied by Eersel, who represents the modern evolution of Dutch Muay Thai. The nine-time ONE World Champion showcases the Dutch approach with his exceptional output. His record-setting 188 strikes landed against Nieky Holzken remains the most in ONE’s kickboxing and Muay Thai history.
What sets Dutch Muay Thai apart is its emphasis on combination striking and relentless pressure. Eersel exemplifies this with his high-volume, high-flying style that uses lateral movement while striking, often throwing multiple power strikes off the same side. His trademark flying knees and ability to maintain intense pressure for five rounds demonstrate the exceptional conditioning that Dutch fighters are known for.
The Dutch system’s emphasis on volume and aggression is evident in Eersel’s approach – he reads opponents quickly, then turns up the heat with combinations of five strikes or more that finish with knees or kicks in classic Dutch style.
UK Style: Boxing Power Meets Muay Thai
British Muay Thai has developed its own distinctive character, heavily influenced by the country’s rich boxing heritage. U.K. fighters typically enter Muay Thai with strong punching fundamentals and adapt the sport to emphasize hand techniques and knockout power.
Jarvis perfectly represents this approach. The British destroyer earned his WBC Muay Thai World Title at just 21 years old through a relentlessly aggressive style that prioritizes power punching while incorporating devastating kicks and knees.
The U.K. style also places significant emphasis on head movement and footwork borrowed from boxing. Jarvis exemplifies this with his sharp counter-striking ability, using slips, lean-backs, catches, and the long guard to stay in position while defending and setting up his shots.
His ability to switch stances constantly creates confusion while allowing him to land devastating combinations from both orthodox and southpaw positions.
What makes U.K. Muay Thai particularly dangerous is its emphasis on finishing fights. Jarvis has scored 11 knockout victories in his career, demonstrating the killer instinct that British fighters bring to “the art of eight limbs.” His heavy hands and fluid boxing allow him to land high-volume combinations that can end fights in an instant, turning the tide of any bout with a single exchange.
A recently flagged and yet-to-be peer-reviewed paper highlights that the planet Uranus is in a stable orbital resonance with a minor planet, a Centaur named 2015 OU₁₉₄. They have a 3:4 orbital resonance, for every 4 orbits that Uranus completes around the Sun, 2015 OU₁₉₄ completes 3. This locks the two in a coordinated, celestial orbital dance, keeping them from drifting apart or colliding. Scientists suggest that it has lasted for 100o years or even a million years and is likely to continue for another half a million years.
Why does it matter?
In the vast space between Uranus and Neptune, 2015 OU₁₉₄ follows a nearly circular orbit. Centaurs are rocky and icy objects that are found between Jupiter and Neptune. They usually exhibit chaotic, shifting orbits. A stable, long-term dance like this is extraordinary. This also hints at hidden gravitational relationships between the bodies in the outer solar system.
Researchers led by Daniel Bamberger from the Northolt Branch Observatories in Germany scanned through the archival data of 2017 and 2018 from the observation of 2015 OU₁₉₄. and extended the data points from 1 to 3.5 years, this longer observation provided them true nature of the orbital resonance. They published a research paper titled ‘A minor planet in an outer resonance with Uranus’, uncovering the extraordinary findings.
Moreover, other centaurs like 2013 RG₉₈ have also been revealed, which had been engaged in an orbital dance of 3:4 resonance with Uranus. Other candidates like 2014 NX₆₅ also show a strong gravitational influence from Neptune.
These also imply that a similar relationship may also be valid for more objects in the outer Solar System, and these partnerships might be fundamental to the understanding of that region.
An OpenAI AI model placed second in the AtCoder Heuristics World Finals, an international competition for solving tough optimization problems. The model ran completely on its own for ten hours, competing under the same rules as human participants. After a strong start, it briefly lost the lead before catching up again, only to be overtaken at the last moment by veteran competitor FakePsyho.
OpenAI says this marks the first time an AI has cracked the top three in a major programming and math competition. OpenAI hasn’t revealed which specific model it used. The competition itself was sponsored by the company.
