The Garmin Forerunner 255 Just Dropped to Its Lowest Price Ever

Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

If you’re ready to upgrade from tracking your steps to something more performance-driven, investing in a running watch might be your best move. The Garmin Forerunner 255 running watch is designed to help runners optimize training and improve performance, and right now, it’s 43% off on Amazon, the lowest price it’s ever reached according to price trackers. With GPS tracking, comprehensive stats, free training plans, and training evaluations to monitor performance and provide feedback, it’s like a built-in running coach for your wrist.

This discounted model has a larger 46mm screen (compared to the 41mm version) and is the non-music edition, meaning it doesn’t store or play music, so you’ll still need your phone for playlists. It lasts up to 14 days in smartwatch mode and 30 hours in GPS mode, with accurate tracking via multiple satellite systems. At just 1.7 ounces, it’s lightweight despite its size, and features a sweat-resistant silicone band and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The button-based interface (rather than a touchscreen) may also appeal to runners who want reliable control during a sweaty workout.

The built-in Garmin Coach feature offers free adaptive training plans for 5K, 10K, and half-marathon distances. You can also create custom workouts via the Garmin Connect app. The watch provides training tips and personalized workout suggestions that adapt based on your post-run performance and recovery, tracking heart rate and using SatIQ technology to balance GPS accuracy with battery life. It even evaluates your current routine to help you avoid under-training or overexertion.

When worn overnight, HRV status can track your heart rate during sleep and provide additional insight into your overall wellness. However, given the slightly bulky nature of the watch, it may not be comfortable for some people to sleep with. While it’s a favorite among runners, many Amazon reviewers also highlight its accuracy for open water and pool swims, making it a versatile watch for different kinds of fitness lovers.

What do you think so far?

While it’s ideal for runs and everyday use, its stainless steel casing isn’t as rugged as Garmin’s Fenix or Instinct series, and if you want built-in music, you may want to splurge on the brand’s upgraded model instead. If you don’t need those premium features, the Garmin Forerunner 255 running watch offers solid value with GPS accuracy, in-depth training insights, and a long battery life for runners who want to train smart without overspending.

  • Get Into the Action With the New Overview Trailer for ‘Robocop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business’ [Watch]

Get Into the Action With the New Overview Trailer for ‘Robocop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business’ [Watch]

With RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business releasing next week, NACON and Teyon have given fans a sneak peek at the action that awaits in this standalone expansion with a new overview trailer. For fans of the original Rogue City (and RoboCop in general), Unfinished Business looks to unleash a more intense experience and deeper immersion than before, along with over-the-top brutal, gory gunplay.

For the first time in a video game set in the RoboCop universe, Unfinished Business will let players step into the shoes of Alex Murphy before his transformation into the robotic enforcer we all know and love. As an added bonus, during a special mission, players will also get to take control of ED-209 and dive into a true trial by fire against waves of human and robotic enemies (no stairs, thankfully).

After triumphing over Detroit’s gangs and the “New Guy in Town” from Rogue City, peace for RoboCop and the citizens of Old Detroit is short-lived, as crime once again invades the streets. In the midst of this chaos, a glimmer of hope emerges from OCP’s new project: the OmniTower, a massive housing complex intended to give the people of Old Detroit a better life.

But when a group of highly trained mercenaries armed with cutting-edge weapons takes control of the building after attacking the police station, RoboCop must take action to put a stop to their plans and uphold the law. RoboCop must now ascend the OmniTower, which is now a deadly stronghold of troops, led by a mysterious leader who seems to share a close link with RoboCop’s past.

RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business will launch July 17 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.

  • One UI 8 beta makes ditching background noise from your audio and video way easier

One UI 8 beta makes ditching background noise from your audio and video way easier

    What you need to know

    • One UI 8 beta is supposedly testing a new Audio Eraser that zaps background noise live as you watch.
    • Instead of digging through menus, just tap the Audio Eraser icon while watching a video in the Gallery app.
    • It’s purportedly not staying locked to the Gallery app—One UI 8 will reportedly bring Audio Eraser to Notes and Voice Recorder, too.

The latest One UI 8 beta build has apparently sneaked in a nifty upgrade to Samsung’s existing AI feature, scrubbing out background noise from your audio and video more quickly and easily than before.

One of the standout tweaks in the One UI 8 beta is a smarter Audio Eraser. Tipster Ice Universe (via SamMobile) says it can now strip background noise from videos you’re watching without needing to enter editing mode first.

  • Call of Duty: WWII pulled offline due to RCE security flaw

Call of Duty: WWII pulled offline due to RCE security flaw

Call of Duty: WWII officially came to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass earlier this week. However, the PC version has had to swiftly be pulled offline due to a newly discovered security issue.

It seems that Call of Duty: WWII has been hiding a bug that enables Remote Code Execution. One player found themselves targeted mid-game, forcing the game to close and a text file to open informing the player that their PC had been remotely accessed.

Activision has so far only acknowledged that it had to pull the game offline to fix ‘an issue’, with no mention of the serious security implications this bug could have on customers. With that said, Insider Gaming reports that the bug may have been around for years already, which would indicate that this has been a long-standing problem.

Nobody wants a videogame to double up as a backdoor into their PC. It is good that the game was pulled offline once the alarm was raised, but there is no telling how long it will remain offline for. Back when an RCE bug was discovered in the Dark Souls trilogy on PC, all three games had to be pulled offline for months while it was fixed. However, Microsoft has a bit more experience in the cyber security department, so things may move a bit quicker for Call of Duty: WWII.

KitGuru Says: If you had Call of Duty: WWII installed, consider uninstalling it. If you’ve played the game online recently, you should run a system scan to check for any rogue files.
