Come Home to Azeroth with Housing — World of Warcraft — Blizzard News

Build, decorate, and personalize your home in Azeroth with the new Housing feature. Players can earn their own house and plot of land, move into a neighborhood with other players, or establish a neighborhood with their guild. Boundless self-expression awaits you!

    A House for Everyone

Housing is for everyone in Midnight. If you want a house, you can have a house. No exorbitant requirements or high purchase costs, no lotteries, and no onerous upkeep. Your houses are also shared amongst your Warband with your different characters being able to come and go as you see fit (so your Orc character can hang out in your Alliance house without a problem). Housing rewards are also shared across your Warband allowing you to use your décor collection no matter which character earns it. If you have an Alliance character and a Horde character, both will be able to own one house in either the Horde or Alliance Neighborhood zones as well.

    Alliance Neighborhood Zone: Founder’s Point

    Horde Neighborhood Zone: Razorwind Shores

It’s not just Warbands that cross factional lines but friendships as well, so you’ll be able to live in or visit your friends’ or guildmates’ houses and their neighborhoods with minimal restrictions regarding faction.

    Embracing Boundless Self-Expression

To help you create the perfect living space, the Housing feature offers a variety of tools for customization with the option to design in either Basic or Advanced Modes. You’ll also be able to collect a variety of home décor, dye select items, resize them, and place them anywhere in your home.

You’ll be able to create a home that reflects your unique style and achievements in Azeroth. Whether you’re looking to make the cover of the Gadgetzan Times or design a space that strikes fear into the hearts of your visitors, the Housing feature offers endless possibilities for customization.

The exterior of your home will be customizable as well, using a similar functionality to the in-game barber shop, with four different themed kits initially available: Blood Elf, Night Elf, Orc, and Human theming. Choose different towers, windows, facades, and more. It’s important to note that while your Horde characters can live in your Alliance house and your Alliance characters can live in your Horde house, you won’t be able to use opposite faction exteriors in that neighborhood. This means that an Alliance neighborhood will always feature Alliance architecture, and a Horde neighborhood will always feature Horde architecture. Neutral architecture can appear in either neighborhood type.

    Welcome to the Neighborhood

Homes in World of Warcraft are separated into two Neighborhood zones, Founder’s Point (for the Alliance), and Razorwind Shores (for the Horde). Each Neighborhood is made up of roughly 50 plots of the same size, all of which contain a house.

We want players with different preferences for locations to find a plot that’s perfect for them, be they vibe-based or looking for something for a specific character. Some plots are placed far away from everything for the hermits among us, while others are grouped together in small cul-de-sacs of two to three houses perfect for a small group of friends. Other houses are in larger groupings for folks looking for more hustle and bustle.

Similarly, there’s a variety of biomes in each zone, ranging from Founder’s Point’s spooky forests and autumnal farmland to the lush oases and windswept bluffs in Razorwind Shores. In both Neighborhoods, you’ll find a dynamic central hub area full of both NPC activity and Endeavors.

There are two types of Neighborhoods:

    • Public Neighborhoods – These are created as needed by the game servers and anyone can buy a house in them. As they fill up, new instances are created, so players looking for a house shouldn’t see a message about all the neighborhoods being full. Public Neighborhoods are run by the game as well, including naming it (with a semi-procedurally generated name), organizing, and keeping the neighborhood running however is needed.
    • Private Neighborhoods – These are created and owned by players, either by Guilds as Guild Neighborhoods, or by arbitrary groups of players as Charter Neighborhoods.

    Undertaking Endeavors

Endeavors are a Neighborhood-wide activity open to anyone who lives in the Neighborhood. Endeavors occur approximately once a month and when a new Endeavor becomes available the Neighborhood is provided with the opportunity to learn from various cultures and factions of Azeroth by completing different tasks. Players in Private Neighborhoods can choose from a selection of Endeavors, though occasionally a set Endeavor appears to highlight things happening in the world. In Public Neighborhoods, the game servers are responsible for choosing which Endeavors are active.

Each Endeavor has a group of tasks that are collectively completed by the Neighborhood. As tasks are completed, more NPCs from that area show up, making various themed decorations available to the neighborhood inhabitants (or even tovisiting players from other Neighborhoods), and the Neighborhood changes visually to be decorated in that faction’s fashion. The number of tasks required scales with Neighborhood size, so a 50-player Neighborhood will have to complete more tasks than a 10-player Neighborhood. Similarly, if a Neighborhood is less active, future Endeavors for that Neighborhood will also scale their requirements down to accommodate.

Complete themed Endeavors in your Neighborhoods, adding a unique touch to your home.

    A Very Rewarding Experience

Players can earn rewards through a variety of sources, whether you’re buying from someone on the Auction House, you’ve completed achievements such as defeating Onyxia in her lair, making something using a profession, or just through adventuring; you’ll have plenty of ways to add to your collection.

Decor should come from everywhere and everything! We want you to find decor rewards in all sorts of gameplay, not just a single avenue. For example, while a specific jade-inlaid bookshelf might come from a particular quest in Pandaria, other bookshelves could come from vendors, professions, or other varied forms of content.

Open House: Take the Housing Tour

Take a 3D Tour of Housing and see the evolving customization options that await you!

    Take the Tour

Go Deeper into the design in our previously published development articles:

Begin your journey with the 11.2.7 content update. Players with Midnight will gain early access to Housing, and all players will be able to begin collecting an assortment of starting décor items to prepare for the release of Midnight.

We’ll put out the “Welcome” mat for you!

  • Best Labor Day TV deal: Save 50% on all sizes of the TCL NXTVISION art TV

Best Labor Day TV deal: Save 50% on all sizes of the TCL NXTVISION art TV

SAVE 50%: Through Sept. 29, all sizes of the TCL NXTVISION QLED art TV are 50% off for Labor Day, with savings of up to $2,000. Some sizes are sold out at Amazon, but all are available at Best Buy.

Labor Day is a uniquely great time to buy a TV. While it may not see deals as intense as Black Friday or the end of football season, its timing is indisputably clutch: Labor Day deals strike right before the NFL season and spooky season, both of which call for heavy TV watching and a nice, new screen to do it on. Plus, the 50% off discount on TCL’s NXTVISION art TVs sounds pretty Black Friday-ish to us. Through Sept. 29, you can save between $700 and $2,000 on the TCL NXTVISION (previously called the NXTFRAME).

Your best bet is to shop at Best Buy as some sizes are out of stock at Amazon. Note: The MSRPs listed by Best Buy are far lower than the MSRPs at TCL’s website, so Best Buy’s discounts look less stark — but we’re trusting TCL’s prices on its own TVs, and TCL says they’re all half off. They’re all significantly cheaper than Samsung’s The Frame TVs of the same sizes, even on sale themselves.

Here’s the full price rundown at Best Buy:

Art TVs like the TCL NXTVISION or Samsung’s The Frame have comparable specs to other QLED TVs on the market. Their extra layer of quantum dots helps them to achieve higher levels of brightness that pop during daytime watching. The 2024 NXTVISION TV features a 120Hz refresh rate, doubling the responsiveness of the 60Hz seen on most cheap 4K TVs. So, what’s the difference between an art TV and a regular TV? It’s the matte screen that allows the TV to look like framed wall art, not a shiny black TV. When not in use, you can choose from hundreds of famous paintings available in the NXTVISION’s settings. From the side, the NXTVISION only sticks out 1.2 inches from the wall — a much more subtle framed effect than the average TV wall mount.

  • Best tablet deal: $135 Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+

Best tablet deal: $135 Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+

SAVE $85.04: As of Sept. 2, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ (64GB, WiFi) is down to just $134.95 at Amazon. That’s a savings of 39% and a new record-low price.

If you want a tablet that simply acts as a tablet, you don’t need to drop hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ is a capable tablet that checks all the right boxes and it’s on sale for less than $150.

As of Sept. 2, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ with 64GB of storage and WiFi connectivity is just $134.95 at Amazon. That’s 39% off its list price of $219.99 and its lowest cost on record.

While you may be familiar with Samsung’s flagship S-series devices, the A-series is a little under the radar. It’s designed to deliver many of the same core essentials as the S-series, but with some swaps that knock the price down. It’s essentially what the basic iPad is to the iPad Pro. The A-series tablets are “perfect for everyday tasks like streaming the latest movies, browsing the Internet or keeping the kids entertained,” according to Samsung.

    Mashable Deals

The A9+ is a reliable tablet that can handle all the basics with ease. It packs an 11-inch display with slim bezels, 4GB of RAM, quad speakers powered by Dolby Atmos, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, expandable storage up to 1TB, and a decent battery life (it’s just OK). It’s certainly no laptop replacement, but it’s not meant to be either. If you’re looking for something that can handle productivity tasks as well as entertainment without spending a fortune, it’s going to be hard to beat this deal at only $134.95.

  • The new Dolby Vision 2 HDR standard is probably going to be controversial

The new Dolby Vision 2 HDR standard is probably going to be controversial

Dolby has announced the features of Dolby Vision 2, its successor to the popular Dolby Vision HDR format.

Whereas the original Dolby Vision was meant to give creators the ability to finely tune exactly how TVs present content in HDR, Dolby Vision 2 appears to significantly broaden that feature to include motion handling as well—and it also tries to bridge the gap between filmmaker intent and the on-the-ground reality of the individual viewing environments.

What does that mean, exactly? Well, Dolby says one of the pillars of Dolby Vision 2 will be “Content Intelligence,” which introduces new “AI capabilities” to the Dolby Vision spec. Among other things, that means using sensors in the TV to try to fix the oft-complained-about issue of shows being too dark.

Many editors and filmmakers tweak their video content to be best viewed in a dark room on a high-end TV with strong peak brightness, contrast, color accuracy, and so on. Unfortunately, that sometimes means that some shows are laughably dark on anything but the most optimal target setup—think Apple TV+’s Silo, or the infamous Battle of Winterfell in the final season of Game of Thrones, both of which many people complained were too dark for clear viewing.

With Content Intelligence, Dolby Vision 2 will allegedly make the image “crystal clear” by “improving clarity in any viewing environment without compromising intent.” Further, it will use ambient light detection sensors in supporting TVs to adjust the content’s presentation based on how bright the viewer’s room is.

Fixing motion smoothing—or making it worse?

There’s plenty that’s going to be controversial in Content Intelligence with some purists, but it’s another feature called Authentic Motion that’s probably going to cause the biggest stir for Dolby Vision 2.

  • Microsoft Unveils VibeVoice for Longer Conversational AI Audio

Microsoft Unveils VibeVoice for Longer Conversational AI Audio

Microsoft has released VibeVoice, a new open-source artificial intelligence (AI) model that lets users create podcasts and other audio — a counter to Google’s popular NotebookLM.

But there are notable differences. Microsoft’s text-to-speech model can generate four voices and up to 90 minutes of podcast-quality speech. NotebookLM can do two voices.

Additionally, VibeVoice reads and organizes text while NotebookLM ingests documents and turns them into two-person podcasts. Users can also query and get document summaries, according to tech firm Hugging Face.

That means VibeVoice doesn’t try to understand the text but rather performs it audibly, ostensibly to replace a recording studio.

VibeVoice is the latest offering in voice AI technology, which has been attracting venture capital funding.

In 2024, voice AI startups raised $2.1 billion, up eightfold from the prior year, according to market research firm CB Insights. There’s rising interest in voice shopping: A PYMNTS Intelligence report shows that 30.4% of Gen Z consumers already shop by voice every week, followed by millennials. For all ages, the average is 17.9% of consumers using voice to shop.

VibeVoice runs on 1.5 billion parameters, relatively small for a model capable of sustaining dialogue across multiple speakers.

It was trained using Alibaba’s open-source Qwen2.5, a large language model that helps orchestrate natural turn-taking and contextually aware speech patterns during dialogues.

Microsoft claims this means VibeVoice can produce fluid conversations among four voices and yet maintain each voice’s distinct characteristics, even in longer conversations.

See also: How the World Does Digital: A Deep Dive Into Global Digital Engagement

    How to use VibeVoice

Potential research applications of VibeVoice include the following:

    Prototyping podcasts and training content

    • Creators could generate mock podcasts, panel discussions or training modules with multiple AI voices. Instead of hiring four voice actors to test dialogue flow, users can create a synthetic version in minutes using text.

    Accessibility and education

    • Educational material, textbooks or research papers could be turned into long-form audio with distinct narrators. This could help people who learn better by listening, or make dense material more engaging.

    Game and media development

    • Game developers or storytellers could use VibeVoice to prototype dialogue between characters. Because it handles four speakers, you can stage a full in-game conversation without recording sessions.

Recognizing the risks of deepfakes, Microsoft said VibeVoice’s safeguards include ensuring every audio file includes both a disclaimer—such as “This segment was generated by AI”—and a hidden digital watermark.

It bars impersonation, disinformation and live deepfake uses such as real-time voice conversion in calls. It supports only English and Chinese speech for now. The model is available for research, not commercial deployment.

Scam Junkie Podcast Waives Monthly Subscription Fee

Beverly Hills, CA, Sept. 02, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Spotify top rated true crime podcast Scam Junkie has just waived their $4.99 per month subscription fee. Most podcasts charge a small monthly fee for subscribers. Because Scam Junkie has become so popular and is attracting regular paid advertisers the award winning podcast is now available for free to everyone.

Host and producer Steve Comisar aka The Don of Con says, “By making our podcast free we will increase our listeners into the millions per episode. That makes the cost of advertising on the show go up. When the advertisers pay more, the talent also gets paid more.” It’s rumored that top podcast hosts like Comisar and Joe Rogan can make in excess of seven figures a month.

Comisar got his success in podcasting by being the only Hollywood actor who was also an iconic con man. Scam Junkie is the only true crime podcast hosted by a former scam artist. Comisar has been acting since he was a child and hosting Scam Junkie since 2023. After a long prison stint Comisar turned his life around and now educates people on the scams he once ran. Scam Junkie is now in its third season on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

  • Google Beefs Up Gemini to Become an All-Around AI Tool

Google Beefs Up Gemini to Become an All-Around AI Tool

Google is beefing up its features for Gemini, its primary suite of generative AI models and the chatbot that serves as its main interface.

New tools are aimed at productivity, scheduling and learning. The latest update brings Gemini closer to becoming an all-purpose AI platform for individuals and businesses.

In the latest update, Gemini gets guided learning, productivity planners, integration with smart watches and access to its Veo video generator, among other capabilities. For creative folks, the Gemini app now offers image editing using text prompts through its viral Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model, codenamed Nano Banana.

The additions build on Google’s push to make Gemini more than a conversational assistant and into a generalist learning and productivity platform. The update follows the June release of Gemini 2.5 Pro in preview. Google said the model shows improved performance in coding, science and multimodal reasoning tasks.

The update arrives amid an intensifying race among tech giants to make generative AI assistants indispensable.

Microsoft has been rolling out more capable AI tools across consumer and enterprise platforms, including for smart TVs. Meanwhile, OpenAI launched GPT-5 for ChatGPT and added agentic capabilities. It announced Tuesday (Sept. 2) that it would introduce parental controls within the next month.

Google, which rebranded its Bard chatbot as Gemini last year, has sought to position Gemini as a do-everything AI that works across devices and integrates deeply with the company’s productivity software, such as Docs, Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Meet and more.

By expanding Gemini’s use cases, Google seeks to incorporate the AI assistant into people’s daily habits in work and life. How well business professionals and individuals embrace these tools may determine which company ultimately dominates the AI race.

In smartphones, Google is already prevailing in AI against rival Apple. PYMNTS CEO Karen Webster wrote in July that Apple faces the risk of the iPhone becoming commoditized because Google’s latest smartphones — Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 — have or will have a natively embedded AI that lets users speak, search, transact and navigate. Apple’s iPhones can’t match that today.

“Getting an AI-powered Android device just may be enough for people to dump their iPhones,” Webster wrote.

    Gemini’s New Features

Google’s latest upgrades for Gemini include integration with smart watches using Wear OS, which spans Google’s own Pixel watches as well as those from Samsung, OPPO, OnePlus and Xiaomi.

On the creative front, the Gemini app now has image editing capability through the viral Nano Banana model. It lets users upload an image and then type in prompts to edit it. For example, reimagine how a person might look across the decades, such as the 1970s, with a groovy haircut.

Also, Google has added Veo 3, the newest version of its video generation model. The tool can animate still photos, drawings or digital art into moving video clips, complete with AI-generated audio.

For productivity, Google is also adding scheduled actions, a feature that lets users queue tasks and recurring requests directly within the Gemini app. The Productivity Planner Gem integrates email, Calendar and Drive into a single view, designed to help users prioritize daily tasks more easily.

Meanwhile, Temporary Chat allows people to hold private conversations with Gemini that won’t be saved or affect future responses, an answer to growing demand for more user control over AI memory.

Personalization is another focus. Gemini can now draw on past chat history if users opt in to provide more relevant answers. Google said users remain in control, with the ability to manage or delete stored conversations.

Another new perk is real-time captions to Gemini Live, its voice chatbot, which can also connect with Google services such as Maps.

For education, one new feature is Guided Learning, which helps users break down complex topics into digestible steps. The tool is designed to make explanations more interactive, with the AI walking learners through a process rather than delivering a static answer.

Students and business professionals can also now generate study guides and flash cards directly from their own notes, readings or problem sets, automating one of the more time-consuming aspects of learning.

Google has also introduced Storybook, a feature that allows users to turn personal memories or even dense concepts into illustrated stories that can be read, shared or printed. The tool can add text and audio, blending creative writing with multimodal AI generation.

For more advanced use cases, Gemini’s new Deep Think mode is being rolled out to Ultra subscribers. It is meant to tackle complex reasoning challenges, particularly in mathematics and coding.

  • Multiscreen viewing is reshaping how gambling brands reach global audiences

Multiscreen viewing is reshaping how gambling brands reach global audiences

Over the last few years, the rise of multiscreen viewing, consumers watching content across television, mobile devices, and tablets simultaneously, has catalysed a profound shift in how brands, particularly those in the gambling sector, connect with audiences around the world. This transformation offers both a challenge and an opportunity: navigating traditional broadcast restrictions while capitalising on digital innovations such as overlays, second-screen apps, and offshore streaming services.

This article explores how multiscreen strategies are redefining reach, engagement, and regulatory circumvention in the global gambling marketplace.

The Multiscreen Revolution is A New Paradigm of Engagement

Today’s media consumption habits are far from passive. Viewers increasingly engage with a TV programme or live sports event while simultaneously accessing supplementary content on their smartphones or tablets. This behaviour, known as multiscreen viewing, allows gamblers to watch a game on a big screen while placing bets, tracking odds, or engaging with betting promotions on a second device. The fragmentation of attention presents brand opportunities: digital overlays on live broadcasts, push notifications tuned to in-play moments, and synchronised experiences across devices give brands unprecedented precision in targeting.

    Compliance Loopholes and Cross-Border Visibility

With multiscreen strategies enabling simultaneous engagement across TV, mobile, and tablet, gambling sites not on GamStop are offering players a more flexible and immersive experience. These platforms combine large game libraries, fast payment processing, and seamless navigation across devices, ensuring users can switch from watching live events on television to placing bets or playing slots on their phones without interruption. Second-screen integration and offshore streaming enhance availability, making these services more responsive to modern viewing habits and user expectations.

Overlays and synchronised apps enable message delivery without violating broadcast licencing conditions, since the interactive elements are served from separate digital layers or offshore servers. This parallel infrastructure ensures that operators can maintain live engagement, even where local gambling advertising is heavily restricted. Timing and contextual integration are key. Messaging that appears during half-time or commercial breaks often performs best, minimising disruption and increasing audience receptiveness.

How Multiscreen Strategies Target Global Audiences

Digital overlays during live broadcasts have become a powerful tool. By using overlays, graphical elements superimposed on televised content, brands can insert real-time promotions without disrupting the viewer’s experience. These overlays can display odds, countdowns to bets closing, or even live chat features, encouraging instantaneous interaction. For operators looking to sidestep domestic restrictions, overlays offer persistent visibility in markets where conventional advertising might otherwise be limited.

Second-screen apps enhance interactivity by serving as companions to televised content. Users can receive live statistics and personalised suggestions, place bets mid-game, or even engage in social betting pools. These second-screen experiences transform spectators into active participants. Offshore-hosted apps, in particular, enable brands to reach users in territories where local restrictions apply without breaching national regulations.

Offshore streaming services, whether integrated into social platforms or distributed through independent portals, further expand global visibility. These feeds can bypass mainstream distribution channels and deliver interactive content directly to engaged viewers, especially during live sports broadcasts, while avoiding regional compliance constraints.

    Expanding Reach Beyond Jurisdictional Limits

Even as regulators tighten oversight in markets like the UK and Western Europe, multiscreen strategies are empowering gambling operators to broaden their international footprint. Brands are now using geotargeted overlays to deliver localised promotions based on the viewer’s IP address. This allows a single global stream to carry different messages to users in Africa, Asia, or North America simultaneously, improving cultural alignment and relevance.

Language customisation in second-screen apps is also becoming more common. By adjusting content dynamically to suit the viewer’s preferences, these platforms ensure broader accessibility. Meanwhile, streaming optimisations such as adaptive bitrate technology make live content smoother across devices, reducing friction and dropout rates, especially in emerging markets where connectivity can be inconsistent.

    Multiscreen Viewing Is Redefining Strategy

In a media environment increasingly defined by multitasking and simultaneous device usage, multiscreen strategies have emerged as a cornerstone of modern gambling marketing. By combining real-time overlays, interactive apps, and offshore streaming tools, operators are reconfiguring how they reach, convert, and retain global audiences. While questions around regulation and consumer safety persist, the momentum behind multiscreen engagement is undeniable. For brands navigating complex global markets, this approach offers both reach and resilience in a fragmented media landscape.

  • Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra images leak ahead of Thursday’s reveal

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra images leak ahead of Thursday’s reveal

Are you excited for Thursday’s Galaxy Event? There (probably) won’t be any surprises due to extensive leaks – case in point, here is a look at the Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra, courtesy of Evan Blass.

First, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is coming in four colors. The Navy version was listed in Portugal complete with full specs (and again here). The other colors will be called Jetblack, White and Icyblue, but Navy will be the hero color.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE in White
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE in Icyblue

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE in Navy, Jetblack, White and Icyblue

In short, the phone is getting the full Exynos 2400 chipset (not the 2400e) and faster 45W wired charging for a slightly larger 4,900mAh battery (up from 25W for a 4,700mAh battery on the S24 FE). It should also get upgraded to an ultrasonic fingerprint reader (the old model has an optical reader).

We’ve seen US prices for the Galaxy S25 FE – $650 for the 128GB model and $710 for the 256GB one. Samsung will offer a 512GB variant in other regions. These are the same launch prices as the S24 FE, by the way. And we expect to see some pre-order perks, of course.

The new tablets are also getting new chipsets – we’ve already seen benchmarks from the Dimensity 9400+ inside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. The vanilla Tab S11 should use the same chip.

Like the phone, the two tablets leaked through a retailer. The vanilla model will cost around €960 for a 256GB Wi-Fi slate. A 128GB 5G model will be around €1,030. We expect to see 512GB variants as well. The Ultra model will go for €1,475 or so (512GB Wi-Fi).

We also saw US pricing for the two slates – $860 for a 256GB Wi-Fi Tab S11 and $1,200 for a Tab S11 Ultra with the same specs. Higher storage tiers for Ultra will be $1,400 and $1,700 for 512GB and 1TB, respectively. Note that only the 1TB variant will have 16GB of RAM, the lower versions will have to make do with 12GB.

On Thursday we will have detailed reports on the Galaxy S25 FE, Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra – plus anything else that Samsung might showcase (tri-foldable? XR headset? We will find out in a couple of days).
