Prince Harry tears up as Meghan Markle shifts priorities

Meghan Markle’s shocking decisions are reportedly forcing Prince Harry to take extreme step about his and children’s future.

The Duke of Sussex is alone and heartbroken, struggling to cope with life’s challenges as Meghan’s changing priorities have left him at a crossroads, according to a new report.

Harry is said to be confiding in friends that his marriage isn’t the life he imagined, according to Radar Online.

The 40-year-old has privately voiced frustration as the former Hollywood actress pours her energy into her lifestyle brand As Ever.

However, Harry is proud of her success, but feels sidelined.

A source close to the Sussexes, said: “Harry is feeling more isolated than ever. Meghan starts her day before sunrise, throws herself into an endless workload, and won’t hand things off.”

The insider explained: “Her expectations are so demanding that it leaves everyone on edge. This isn’t the life I thought I was choosing.”

Harry and Meghan, who married in 2018 and now live in California with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, have faced recurring rumours they are headed for divorce.

Meghan earlier this year denied claims she was preparing a so-called “post-divorce book,” while Harry joked in 2023: “We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times. It’s hard to keep up. But that’s why you just sort of ignore it.”

A source added: “The tension really stems from Meghan wanting to manage nearly everything on her own. She doesn’t include Harry the way she once did, aside from the occasional acknowledgment.”

They went on to claim: “He feels pushed to the sidelines, and most evenings he’s left with nothing to do while she’s tied up on calls or dealing with brand matters.”

Our insider added: “They once treated time together as sacred, but now Harry jokes that he practically has to book a slot with his wife. He makes light of it, but deep down it bothers him.”

Harry has reportedly been urging Meghan to step back and take a real break so they can spend quality time together.

“He understands how much her business matters to her, but he feels their marriage is slipping into second place,” revealed the source.

Luis M. Liz-Marzán receives first Dong Qin Award in Nanochemistry

The American Chemical Society announced Luis M. Liz-Marzán, a leader in the colloidal synthesis of metal nanoparticles, as the recipient of the first Dong Qin ACS Award in Nanochemistry. The award aims to “recognize creative and impactful research by an investigator in the area of nanochemistry.” The award consists of $5,000 and a certificate, as well as reimbursed travel expenses to ACS Spring 2026, where the award will be presented.

Liz-Marzán joined the Center for Cooperative Research in Biomaterials (CIC biomaGUNE) as an Ikerbasque Research Professor and scientific director. He is now a principal investigator of the CIC biomaGUNE node of the Biomedical Research Networking Center in Bioengineering, Biomaterials, and Nanomedicine. As of 2022, he also holds a part-time chair position at the University of Vigo.

    Remembering a leader in nanochemistry

Qin’s friends, colleagues, and peers believed the establishment of this award would have brought a smile to her face. “She would like that the award provides an opportunity to celebrate science and bring people together,” says Sara Skrabalak, the James H. Rudy Professor at Indiana University Bloomington.

Others say the award embodies some of Qin’s admirable qualities: “A smart and energetic scientist who was always striving for innovative ideas and would not quit. A lively and engaging person who was always kind and helpful to others. A person who loved and was enthusiastic about living, in all aspects of life,” says Hai-Lung Dai, the Laura H. Carnell Professor of Chemistry at Temple University.

John Rogers, the Louis Simpson and Kimberly Querrey Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Neurological Surgery at Northwestern University, echoes the sentiment. He met Qin as a postdoctoral scholar in George Whitesides’s group at Harvard University in the 1990s. “Dong was simply wonderful. A supersmart, talented researcher—in that sense not unlike several other highly accomplished postdocs in the Whitesides group in those days—but she was much more than that at a personal level due to her unique individual style. Specifically, she was one of the most optimistic, energetic, enthusiastic people that I have ever known.”

Rogers recalls their optics experiments at the time required using a lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they had only early-morning access to complete their work. One of Rogers’s favorite memories is their 5:00 a.m. meetings at that lab to complete their research. “Younan Xia [Qin’s husband] would accompany Dong during these early-morning trips from Harvard to MIT to make sure that she arrived safely. I just remember the incredible contrast: Dong arriving in her usual, loud, boisterous, energetic, joyful way, accompanied by Younan [with a quiet, reserved demeanor]. . . . For me, this is not only a great, lasting memory of Dong but also of Younan’s deep dedication to her.”

Qin was a materials science and engineering professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she had established a group to work on the colloidal synthesis of noble-metal nanocrystals. The goal of this work was to illuminate the process of forming these structures to optimize the production of novel materials with specific properties for a variety of applications. Her work has contributed to the advancement in understanding of the nucleation and growth of bimetallic nanocrystals and methods to create nanomaterials with desired characteristics. Peidong Yang, a professor of chemistry and materials science at the University of California, Berkeley, calls Qin’s work developing in situ techniques pioneering: “Metal nanocrystal growth in solution has been largely based on an empirical approach, and for many decades, it has been an art rather than a science because of the difficulty in gaining atomic-level nucleation and growth information in situ,” he says. “Dr. Qin’s work has turned this art of nanocrystal growth into quantitative science.”

Before arriving at Georgia Tech, Qin was associate dean of research in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Washington University in St. Louis and associate director of the Center for Nanotechnology at the University of Washington.

Qin was a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and served as an associate editor of Nanoscale and Nanoscale Advances and as an advisory board member of Nanoscale Horizons, the Journal of Materials Chemistry C, and ChemNanoMat. She was also recognized for her exceptional teaching, having received multiple awards from Georgia Tech.

She was a researcher, mentor, teacher, and friend to many in her community. She was also remembered for her pursuits in cooking. Dai recalls sitting with Qin at an ACS meeting, listening to her describe all the new dishes she had been creating and being surprised that “she had become a gourmet chef.”

Qin enjoyed cooking for her friends and typically hosted barbecues. Knowing that some of her friends were vegetarians, she went out of her way to serve them a special meal at her gatherings. “She made the most delicious tofu-mushroom stir-fry. The tofu was the best,” Skrabalak recalls. “I shared with her how much I enjoyed the dish and my wish to be able to prepare such good tofu. Dong began pulling cooking supplies out of her pantry, showed me how to cook it properly in the middle of the party, and sent me home with all the ingredients to reproduce the dish.” Skrabalak still has a copy of the tofu recipe Qin gave her after hosting the Xia group at her home one evening.

Qin is survived by a spouse, Younan Xia; mother, Qike Zheng; and sister, Fawn Wang. She was preceded in death by her father, Qizong Qin.

In a blog post about its 10th birthday, YouTube revealed some new features and shared statistics about the platform’s success.

    Taste Match

First up is Taste Match — a feature that sounds a lot like Spotify Blend. YouTube says this feature is an easy way to connect with other users over shared music tastes and discover new songs. When users join a Taste Match playlist, they’ll see a daily playlist of songs based on the shared interests of everyone who has joined. If you’re the type of person who likes exploring new music but wants to stay in the genres you enjoy, this is a fantastic way to see what else is out there.

    Other new features

    Also on the way is:

    • Notifications to let you know about upcoming releases from your favorite artists, new merch drops, event announcements, and more.
    • Alerts about upcoming local concerts when you watch artist Shorts or visit an artist’s channel.
    • Badges like “First to Watch” and “Top Listener” to let supporters showcase their loyalty.
    • Milestone markers on official artist videos that are nearing major view counts like 100,000, 1 million, or 1 billion to let fans help artists hit milestones.
    • The ability to leave comments directly on albums and playlists.

YouTube Music has seen quite a bit of innovation over the past 12 months as it tries to keep up with its competition. It rolled out cross-device sync playback controls, lyric sharing, a “consistent volume” setting to make sure every song plays at the same level, and a digital DJ feature to build custom playlists on demand.

  • ETH Price Could Hit New Highs Soon: Here’s Why

ETH Price Could Hit New Highs Soon: Here’s Why

    Key takeaways:

    • ETH surged 13% on Friday after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s dovish Jackson Hole speech hinted at an interest rate cut in September.

    • Onchain and technical indicators signal Ether’s potential to hit $6,000 in the short term.

Ether’s (ETH) price displayed strength at the Wall Street open on Friday, rising 13% to $4,788 following Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s Jackson Hole speech.

ETH price rallied from $4,200 within minutes, reclaiming $4,600, a level that has suppressed the price over the last seven days, per data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView.

This performance follows Powell’s Jackson Hole speech, where he hinted at a potential interest rate cut in September, signaling a dovish stance that boosted market optimism.

Interest rate cut odds for the Sept. 17 FOMC meeting have now jumped to 91.5% from 75% a day prior, according to the CME Group Fedwatch tool.

This adds to the encouraging bullish sentiment that could potentially drive ETH to new highs.

ETH crosses $4,600 with a “god candle,” said analyst Elisa in response to Ether’s reaction, adding:

Several bullish signs suggest that ETH is well-positioned to break out toward fresh all-time highs in the following days or weeks.

Continued spot ETF inflows back ETH price upside

One factor supporting Ether’s bull argument is persistent institutional demand, reflected by significant inflows into spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Spot Ether ETFs saw $287.6 million in inflows on Aug. 21, breaking a four-day outflow streak. These investment products have seen net inflows totaling $2.55 billion month-to-date as per data from Farside Investors.

As Cointelegraph reported, Ether continued dominating global exchange-traded products (ETPs) last week, with inflows totaling $2.9 billion, marking growing investor appetite for the altcoin ETPs.

    Exchange supply plummets

ETH balances on exchanges have dropped to nine-year lows, falling to 14.9 million ETH for the first time since July 2016, Glassnode data shows.

The total balance between inflows and outflows in and out of all known exchange wallets shows a steep decline since October 2023, when withdrawals from the trading platforms began to surge. This drop accompanies a 180% rise in Ether’s price over the same time period.

Reducing Ether supply on exchanges may signal an incoming price rally fueled by a “supply shortage,” which occurs when strong buyer demand meets decreasing available ETH, according to crypto investor Crypto Virtuos.

“The amount of $ETH held on centralized exchanges has dropped to its lowest level in 9 years,” Crypto Virtuos said in a Monday post on X.

This implies that more people are choosing to hold and stake ETH long-term, resulting in less ETH available for selling.

“Chance of a supply shortage coming. Is ETH ready for its next big move?”

Bull flag breakout places ETH price target above $6,000

From a technical perspective, Ether’s price action has validated a bull flag pattern on the daily chart.

    ETH/USD daily chart. Source: Cointelegraph/TradingView

The bull flag resolved when the price broke above the upper trendline at $4,300. ETH could then rise by as much as the previous uptrend’s height. This puts the upper target for the altcoin at $6,150 — up 43% from the current price.

Additionally, the daily relative strength index is positive at 66. This suggests that the market conditions still favor the upside, boosting Ether’s chances of reaching its bull flag target.

Popular trader Merlijn The Trader had a more ambitious target for Ether, saying that breaking out of a four-year downtrend coupled with a bullish cross from the MACD on the monthly chart sets ETH up for a rally toward $10,000.

Other analysts also predict that Ether could reach $10,000 and beyond in 2025, citing institutional demand through spot Ethereum ETFs and ETH treasury companies remains notably strong, suggesting bullish market sentiment.
