Bella Ramsey slams back at ‘The Last of Us’ critics with blunt reply

Bella Ramsey clapped back at critics who raised questions over the changes made in the second season of The Last of Us.

While the series still hit its mark, it received criticism over Ramsey’s character Ellie becoming short-tempered after the death of her father-figure like character Joel (Pedro Pascal), the core events of 2020’s The Last of Us Part II got reworked, and some scenes were left out, while new ones were engineered.

In a recent The Awardist podcast by Entertainment Weekly, The Games of Throne star said, “I tried to steer clear as much as I could, to be honest, because there’s nothing that I can do about it anyway.”

She added, “I mean, the show is out. There’s nothing that can be changed or altered. So I’m like, there’s not really any point in reading or looking at anything.”

Ramsey further said that while people are “entitled to their opinions,” the show and viewer’s judgements are two different things to her.

“You don’t have to watch it if you hate it that much. The game exists. Like, you can just play the game again,” she addressed the critics. “You don’t have to watch it, but if you do wanna watch it, then I hope you enjoy it.”

The Last of Us season 2 is now available to stream on HBO Max.
