Pakistan condemns deadly Israeli attacks on Gaza hospital, Syrian territory-Xinhua

ISLAMABAD, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) — Pakistan on Wednesday strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrikes on Gaza’s Nasser Hospital, which killed at least 20 people, including journalists and a rescue worker.

“This heinous attack on a medical facility, as well as the continued targeting of civilians and journalists, represents a grave violation of international human rights and humanitarian law, as well as freedom of the press,” the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Israel must be held accountable for these war crimes and concrete steps must be taken towards ending Israel’s impunity, it added.

The Foreign Office also condemned Israeli military actions in Syria, calling the incursion a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

It reiterated Pakistan’s “full support for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Syria,” and urged the global community to prevent actions that threaten regional peace and stability.
