Neurodivergent people are described medically as those whose brains develop or work differently for some reason. Several different things, including genetic disorders, injury, or mental health disorders like depression, can cause this.  Those who operate typically are called neurotypical.

K-Pop fans, many of whom are neurodivergent themselves, have often pointed out traits in idols that mimic their own. One that fans have often pointed to is that many idols have ADHD.

ADHD, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, is a neurodevelopmental disorder that often causes difficulty concentrating and sitting still, among other issues. Traits can range from childhood to adulthood, but many remain the same.

GOT7′s Jackson Wang is one idol who has admitted to being diagnosed with ADHD.

During a live stream that took place on August 29, Jungkook was told to stop moving around while he sat by a fan. He expressed that he could not help it, and stated that he had “adult ADHD,” which makes him continually move like he was.

Fan: Don’t move when you’re sitting down
JK: I kept moving?
JK: but, I can’t help it. I kind of… it’s like adult ADHD
JK: I have it. I keep moving like this.

Many fans reacted to the news, expressing their happiness in the representation Jungkook is for those with the disorder. Others hoped that his admission would stop people from commenting about his movements, as stimming is one way individuals with ADHD regulate themselves.
