American gymnast joins ‘Dancing With the Stars’ in bid to emulate two Olympic champions

Olympic champion Jordan Chiles is following in the footsteps of teammate Simone Biles by swapping the gymnastics floor for the ballroom floor.

Chiles will take part in Dancing With the Stars, the American show that pairs celebrities with professional dancers.

This will be the 34th season of the show, with Biles finishing fourth when competing in Season 24 back in 2017.

Chiles, who won team gold at Paris 2024 next to Biles, Jade Carey, Sunisa Lee and Hezly Rivera, will hope to emulate two Olympic champion gymnasts who have won the dance competition.

Shawn Johnson, who won balance beam gold at Beijing 2008, was crowned Dancing With the Stars champion in 2009.

Laurie Hernandez was then victorious the same year she won team gold and balance beam silver at Rio 2016.

Dancing With the Stars starts later in September.
