Live Show 8 – 14 Sep: Denari and Tracy bite the dust in double eviction blow – BBNaija

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu never does anything in halves. But for tonight’s live eviction show, he was happy to unleash a double eviction that left the house chilled below sub-zero. It also doubled as proof that the 10/10 season is running on pure adrenaline, pulling no punches and keeping fans gasping from the opening seconds to the very last shade.

Draped in a regal gold aso-oke agbada with matching fila and a black walking stick, Ebuka walked out like an emperor commanding his kingdom.

The look wasn’t just fashion, however. It was also a cultural history lesson fitting for the mission ahead – to clean house and school the faves on 10/10 codes. Inspired by the viral 1977 photo of Nigeria’s longest-serving head of state, President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Big Brother host served all heritage and power. How fitting, considering the executive orders he was about to hand down on stage — double evictions, sharp interrogations, and warnings that sliced sharper than his agbada pleats.

And when we say double, we mean double. A double eviction right at the top of the show had fans scrambling, timelines screaming, and housemates frozen in shock. Because after seven weeks, Denari and Tracy’s BBNaija journeys came to an abrupt, icy halt.

Denari was the first to go, and Biggie wasted no time in pulling the rug. With no warm-up and easing in, it was just heartbreak delivered within minutes of the show opening. His bed is now cold, but his exit was anything but quiet.

Standing next to Ebuka on stage, Denari admitted that the last week had been a lonely one without Doris, his in-house sweetheart who was evicted last Sunday. “It wasn’t easy,” he confessed. “But I told Biggie that I would push forward.”

And push he did, leading the week’s wager task with enthusiasm, and holding his own despite a new reality as one now flying solo. However, the biggest revelation came when he confirmed that his romance with Doris was far from a casual affair. “We are very much real,” he said, smiling. He confirmed that he will be reconnecting with his fellow 10/10 alum soon. Cue the shippers going wild.

Then came Tracy’s farewell. The bubbly housemate, who once held the coveted title of Head of House, bowed out after seven weeks of highs, lows, and plenty of commentary. On stage, Tracy was reflective, even sentimental. “It was overwhelming to be with so many people,” she admitted, before gushing about the beautiful experience this has been. Though visibly shaken by her exit, she lit up when talking about her “sismance” with Zita, explaining, “I could be myself with her and I didn’t feel judged.”

That bond will no doubt live on outside the house, but inside? It’s over.

If you thought the drama stopped with the evictions, you haven’t been watching Ebuka long enough. The king of pepper had his hot seat smoking. But before grilling the faves, there was a historical flex to be dealt with.

Faith continued his dominance streak, becoming the first housemate to snag the title of Most Influential Player of the Week (MIPOW) for the second time this season. Already in the BBNaija history books as the first housemate to win MIPOW and Head of House simultaneously, Faith’s influence is undeniable. His regime may have been strict, but clearly, his peers still see him as a powerhouse. The win came with the ultimate flex – Immunity.

Ebuka, of course, didn’t let the house off easy. Midway through the show, he roasted the housemates for what he called their “least impressive run of wager challenges.” With his trademark deadpan shade, he told them: “Every week I watch, and nothing.” Ouch. If the housemates weren’t nervous before, they should be now.

Then came the grilling sessions that had the fandom clutching pearls.

Thelma Lawson, currently ruling as Head of House, was asked, but her Head of House run, with Ebuka noting that house divisions persisted, even escalated, under her rule. Asked how she felt about running a divided house, she didn’t flinch. “I am not here to unite anybody,” she snapped. Statement made.

Imisi also found herself in the spotlight after the infamous “anglerfish” and “Dracula” saga. Why, Ebuka asked, had she called Joanna and Mide such names? Imisi tried to dodge, insisting it was Isabella who made the remarks, and she had only nodded along. Twitter fingers were already typing.

And then came Rooboy –  never shy, never subtle. Ebuka pressed him about his complicated relationship with Thelma Lawson: “The first mistake I ever made was telling Thelma Lawson I liked her.” But while he may have had the hots for her at a point in time, Rooboy also made it clear that he would be matching fire with fire.

“If you bring trouble, I’ll bring trouble too.” The room went tense. Fans went feral. Will the two of them be able to overcome their latest fallout?

They’ve practiced before, having clashed and reconciled in repeated cycles. But tonight, the tension spilled beyond the house as the recollections of his fiery clash with Thelma Lawson were the pink elephant. Earlier in the day, Thelma Lawson, had flown into a rage, declaring that she had no interest in him romantically. She also hinted that she believed Rooboy had been using her as part of some “lousy strategy.”

Rooboy wasn’t backing down then, and he wasn’t backing down now. If sparks were needed to light the night, this showdown struck the match.

So where does that leave us? Two housemates gone, Faith back in a position of power, alliances shaking, and Ebuka still running circles around everyone in agbada perfection. With the finale looming closer, the 10/10 house is shrinking, the stakes are rising, and the drama? Steady at 10.
