If you’re after a relatively-affordable budget smartphone, then you might want to check out Xiaomi’s new Redmi 15, which was recently announced for more markets worldwide. Priced at around $220 when converted, the Redmi 15 comes with some not-so-bad specs especially considering its price.

The Redmi 15 features a plastic build that’s available in three different colours, as well as an IP64 dust and water resistance rating; in front you’ll find a large 6.9-inch FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, which is somewhat a rarity especially given its price.
For photos and video, the Redmi 15 features a 50MP main camera and an 8MP selfie camera, although video recording is capped at 1080p. It’s a pretty basic setup and won’t exactly take over the Pixel 9a’s photography throne, although we suppose that at this price all you really want is the basics. The phone’s highlight is its 7,000 mAh battery though, which will undoubtedly be able to last an entire day and then some.
Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 2TB with a microSD card. As for software, the Redmi 15 runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, which comes with services and apps from both Google and Xiaomi.
