Measles death toll climbs to 8 in Mongolia so far in 2025-Xinhua

ULAN BATOR, July 18 (Xinhua) — Mongolia reported one more death from measles, bringing the death toll to 8 since the beginning of 2025, the country’s National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said on Friday.

Meanwhile, 285 people remained in hospital, including 3 critically ill children, the NCCD said in a statement.

The NCCD advised parents to protect their children from the potentially severe disease by getting them two doses of measles vaccine.

Measles is a highly contagious viral disease transmitted by respiratory droplets and direct contact.
