Daimler Truck Mulls China Production Exit, FT Says, Citing CEO

–Daimler Truck will not rule out an exit from manufacturing in China as the truck maker grapples with a “crazy” global downcycle, compounded by U.S. tariffs and weak demand in Europe, the chief executive said, according to the FT.

–Karin Radstroem said in an interview with the FT that when it comes to the company’s future in China, “basically we’re looking at everything,” the FT says.

–Radstroem said the company wants to remain in China in some form to retain access to research and development and sourcing of materials, but conceded it may not need to keep a manufacturing footprint, the FT adds.
