The Darksiders franchise is very interesting to me because it’s one that’s had such an up-and-down history. Fans have been clamouring for the continuing story of where the first game ended for over fifteen years, and now, it seems, they’ll finally be getting it.
This latest very short teaser shows the ending of Darksiders again, with War telling Uriel that although he’s now going to be hunted and has no chance since he’s alone, War responds with the hard-hitting bad-ass dialogue of: “No. Not alone.” In the original game, we saw the three other Horsemen dropping from above, but here they’re joining behind War, now the Four Horsemen are finally together.
To get here, Darksiders fans have gone through a lot. Darksiders II followed just two years after the first game, but then it was six years before Darksiders III, with THQ going defunct, and then THQ Nordic being birthed out of Nordic Games to pick up where some things were left off in the IP front. Darksiders Genesis, the last game in the series, was released in 2019 and introduced the final horseman, Strife, although he didn’t get a numerical entry like his other siblings.
