Pakistan, WHO to accelerate fight against Hepatitis C

ISLAMABAD  –  Pakistan and the World Health Organization have agreed to accelerate fight against Hepatitis C. The agreement reached during a meeting between Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal and WHO Representative in Pakistan Dr Dapeng Luo in Islamabad. On the occasion, Mustafa Kamal reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to intensify efforts in eliminating hepatitis C, in collaboration with the World Health Organization. Mustafa Kamal said the entire team of the Health Ministry will work day and night to materialize this commitment, and no stone will be left unturned to achieve our target. Speaking at the meeting, WHO Representative in Pakistan reiterated his organization’s full support for Pakistan’s efforts to fight the disease, including the Prime Minister’s National Programme for the Elimination of Hepatitis C Infection.
