Black Ops 7 launches new campaign, multiplayer

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has been officially revealed, with its global release set for November 14.

The new title builds on the franchise’s hallmark gameplay with a co-operative campaign, extensive multiplayer features at launch, and the return of its popular Zombies mode.

Black Ops 7 introduces a campaign playable solo or in teams of up to four, designed to welcome both newcomers and long-time fans. Returning characters such as David Mason and Raul Menendez feature alongside new addition Emma Kagan, as the story unfolds across a wide range of locations.

Players will take on missions set in diverse environments – from neon-lit rooftops in Japan to the Mediterranean coast and even psychological landscapes. Central to the story is Avalon, a newly revealed city that becomes increasingly significant as the campaign develops.

The campaign culminates in Endgame, a climactic sequence that challenges players to use personalised abilities and the skills they’ve developed throughout the story.

Multiplayer launches with 16 core 6v6 maps, including thirteen brand-new arenas and three classics from Black Ops 2. Two larger maps debut for large-scale gameplay.

Set in 2035, the multiplayer experience updates weapons and tactical gear to reflect near-future technologies, with all weapon systems redesigned for the new setting.

The new Overclock system lets players upgrade Scorestreaks, Field Upgrades, and Equipment as they use them, adding a strategic progression layer. Perks can also be combined to unlock Hybrid Combat Specialities, offering fresh gameplay bonuses. Movement mechanics have been expanded, including wall jumps and other traversal options to alter the pace of play.

A new large-scale mode, Skirmish, pits 20v20 teams against each other in matches that mix multiple objectives, vehicle combat, wingsuit deployment, and grappling hook mechanics.

Zombies mode returns to its round-based roots while adding vehicle gameplay across new locations. The Dark Aether storyline continues, bringing back the crew from Black Ops 6 alongside alternate versions of fan favourites Richtofen, Nikolai, Takeo, and Dempsey.

Classic survival maps, last seen in Black Ops 2, make a comeback, challenging players to endure wave after wave of the undead. The Dead Ops Arcade mini-game also returns, offering new weapons, arenas, and chaotic scenarios for solo or group play.

Players who preorder or are subscribed to Game Pass will receive early Beta access between October 2 and October 8. The Vault Edition bundle grants early access to select Operators, exclusive weapon skins, Zombies content, and additional customisation items.

The Reznov Challenge Pack will be available to digital preorders and selected Game Pass plans, unlocking new challenges and Operator Skins in both Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone.

The Vault Edition also includes eight Ultra GobbleGums for Zombies, a season of BlackCell content, and a Permanent Unlock Token for securing any loadout or Scorestreak Level Unlock. Preorders of this edition unlock four Operators – Karma, Harper, T.E.D.D., and Reaper EWR-3 – as well as Mastercraft Weapon Blueprints available in both Beta and at launch.
