Islamabad – Shifa International Hospital, in partnership with the Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI), hosted a workshop on Tuesday focused on advancing HPV vaccination to eliminate cervical cancer in Pakistan. The event brought together over 100 healthcare professionals and representatives from WHO, UNICEF, GAVI, and the Gates Foundation.
Dr. Soofia Yunus, DG FDI, highlighted the need for community involvement in immunization efforts and praised the collaboration with Shifa. Dr. Zeeshan Bin Ishtiaque, CEO of Shifa, reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to public health leadership, particularly in cervical cancer prevention. Expert speakers emphasized the HPV vaccine’s role in protecting future generations, while global partners pledged continued support for vaccine rollout across Pakistan.
