Lithuania Displays HPV Vaccination Data — Vax-Before-Travel

Like many European countries, the Republic of Lithuania has adopted a life-course immunisation calendar. This means that certain vaccines are recommended at certain stages of life in this Baltic Region country.

One of these focused vaccines is the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.

As of July 2025, the Lithuanian Human Papillomavirus Vaccination Dashboard is believed to be the first to present vaccination history with a geographical perspective.

Additional indicators can be filtered by age group and gender, allowing for a more detailed analysis of vaccination data.

Dashboard users can view HPV vaccination indicators on an interactive map of Lithuania, depending on whether individuals have received one or two doses of the vaccine.

Vaccination coverage is presented by county, municipality, and healthcare institution.

Notably, HPV-vaccinated individuals are tracked based on the primary healthcare institution with which they are registered. If a person is vaccinated at a different institution, their status is displayed under the institution where they are officially registered.

The data have been developed by Lithuania’s National Public Health Centre, part of Lithuania’s Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the State Data Agency. They are associated with the EU Joint Action against HPV, known as PERCH.

PERCH brings together 18 European countries and 34 partner organizations with the objective of contributing to the implementation of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan. This Plan supports the goal of vaccinating 90% of adolescent girls, as well as improving vaccination among boys.

As of July 24, 2025, the U.S. CDC does not recommend HPV vaccination before visiting Lithuania. However, it does recommend several routine vaccines, including measles.
