A man in central China without arms delivers food on a unicycle and uses his lips to navigate his phone to call customers.

What is more, after work at night he sets up a stall to sell calligraphy written with his feet to support his family.

Inspirational Li Xiangyang, 30, from Hunan province, was born into a poor rural family and now lives with his wife and their two children.

He lost both his arms when he was accidentally electrocuted at the age of four, a tragedy that also plunged his family into debt.

Honor Play10 unveiled with Android Go, expandable storage and 3.5mm jack

Honor just unveiled an entry-level smartphone dubbed the Honor Play10. Unlike Play-series models, including the Play10C from a month ago, this one is a 4G-only phone – and it runs Android Go edition.

This model is powered by the Helio G81. It comes in two configurations – 3/64GB and 4/128GB. Now, 4GB would be pretty tight, but we’ve seen phones with that much RAM run full Android instead of Go edition (including the Play10C). Anyway, at least it’s better than the Play9A, which used the Helio G36. Also, storage is expandable via microSD cards up to 1TB.

The Play10 is equipped with a 6.74” display, an LCD with 720 x 1,600px resolution. There’s a 5MP selfie camera in a notch on the front and a 13MP camera on the back. Both cameras support 1080p video recording.

The phone runs off a 5,000mAh battery that is hobbled by the basic USB-C 2.0 port, which only handles 10W charging.

The phone has basic ingress protection (IP52) and measures 167.7 x 77.7 x 8.55mm and weighs 189g. It comes in Ocean Cyan, Starry Purple and Midnight Black.

Besides the microSD slot, you may be pleased to hear that the Play10 also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and it has an FM radio receiver. A fingerprint reader is on board, but there’s no NFC support. Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.1 are supported.

We haven’t seen pricing for the Honor Play10 yet, but we imagine that in the most common case this will be a “free on contract” type of deal.

  • HashKey Unveils DAT Strategy: Pioneering the Institutional Bridge Between TradFi and Crypto

HashKey Unveils DAT Strategy: Pioneering the Institutional Bridge Between TradFi and Crypto

    PRNewswire

Hong Kong, September 8: HashKey Group (“HashKey”), Asia’s leading digital asset financial services group, today announced a major initiative in the Digital Asset Treasury (DAT) sector, with plans to launch Asia’s largest multi-currency DAT ecosystem fund for the global market. By spearheading, investing in, and operating top-tier DAT projects worldwide, HashKey aims to promote standardized management of crypto assets and drive the sustainable growth of the Web3 ecosystem.

The fund is designed around DAT strategies and stands out as a perpetual vehicle aligned with the long-term operational goals and liquidity needs of DAT, allowing for regular subscriptions and redemptions. HashKey will build a diversified portfolio by initiating and investing in a range of DAT projects focused on mainstream crypto assets, with an initial emphasis on ETH and BTC ecosystem projects. The fund aims to establish an institutional bridge between traditional financial capital and on-chain assets, with a first-phase fundraising target exceeding USD 500 million.

DAT Fund Mechanism and Ecosystem Value

Through its new DAT model, HashKey not only offers institutional investors a compliant and efficient channel for asset participation and potential returns, but also leverages its fund and industry resources to support core public chain ecosystems such as Ethereum, driving the commercialization of ecosystem projects. Beyond fund investments, HashKey will actively participate in the operations of DAT companies and the broader industry ecosystem. This creates a positive flywheel of capital investment, ecosystem application, market value capture, and liquidity exit, marking the market’s first approach to DAT from the perspective of both industry investment and ecosystem development.

    Industry Background and DAT Opportunities

HashKey believes that DAT is not a short-term narrative, but a structurally significant institutional window

Amid the ongoing convergence of global traditional finance and crypto assets, DAT is gradually becoming a key focus for capital markets. Compared with passive ETF products, DAT is more aligned with the around-the-clock, high-volatility nature of the crypto market. By combining traditional financial price discovery logic with on-chain asset structures, DAT serves as a carrier mechanism for the next generation of asset forms. It is not only a new interface for traditional capital to understand the Web3 world, but also a crucial path for on-chain ecosystems to move toward compliance and globalization.

HashKey’s focus on DAT is not a shift in direction, but a continuation of its strategic path and a fulfillment of its capabilities

As Asia’s leading, globally positioned digital asset financial services group, HashKey has been deeply involved in the Ethereum ecosystem for ten years, consistently supporting its development across Asia. Dr. Xiaofeng, the Group’s Chairman, is one of Ethereum’s early investors and among the first industry pioneers in Asia to drive blockchain ecosystem adoption.

After a decade of industry involvement, HashKey has emerged as one of the earliest institutions to establish a deep presence in the Web3 ecosystem. HashKey Capital has invested in over 600 global blockchain and crypto companies, including more than 400 Ethereum ecosystem projects. HashKey Exchange is also among Asia’s first issuers of digital asset spot ETFs listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. HashKey Cloud, one of Asia’s largest node service providers, has long supported Ethereum nodes, while the Ethereum Layer-2 chain HashKey Chain, launched eight months ago, now holds total on-chain assets of USD 172.66 million and has established long-term partnerships with multiple global financial institutions.

In addition, HashKey’s annual HK Web3 Festival has grown into Asia’s largest industry summit, showcasing strong community-building and operational capabilities.

    Regulatory Trends and Outlook

As global regulation becomes increasingly clear, DAT is transitioning from a broad exploratory phase to a stage of structured selection. Nasdaq’s enhanced scrutiny of listed companies’ crypto investments on September 4, 2025, indicates that the market is moving into a ‘survival of the fittest’ stage

HashKey consistently adheres to compliance as a prerequisite and trust as a foundation. Only institutions with strong capabilities in asset identification, structural design, risk management, and ecosystem governance will hold an advantage in the next stage of DAT development.

    Future Vision

HashKey aims to go further, not just faster. The company is not merely launching a fund–it is building an institutional-level bridge. From assets to standards, from Hong Kong to the global stage, and from capital inflows to ecosystem flows, HashKey will adopt a long-term approach to shape and drive the next phase of digital asset infrastructure evolution.

    About HashKey Group

HashKey Group is a leading digital asset financial services group in Asia with global operations in regions such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Ireland and Bermuda.

Since 2018, HashKey Group has built a global Web3 ecosystem within a high-compliance regulatory framework, including HashKey Exchange, the largest* licensed virtual asset exchange regulated by the Hong Kong SFC; HashKey Global, the global flagship digital asset exchange; HashKey Capital, a global asset manager investing exclusively in blockchain technology and digital assets; HashKey OTC, the compliant over-the-counter (OTC) trading arm of HashKey Group, HashKey Cloud, a leading provider of global Web3 infrastructure; and HashKey Tokenisation, a tokenisation services provider.

HashKey Group also possesses a rich on-chain ecosystem, having developed the Ethereum Layer 2, HashKey Chain, and has listed the HashKey platform token HSK. HashKey Group is committed to driving the mass application of blockchain technology, aiming to provide trustworthy and accessible digital asset services to one billion global users.

Not just cars, UT’s digit craze hits top gear | Chandigarh News

Chandigarh: In a city where cars outnumber people and vehicle density tops national charts, even number plates are turning into prized possessions. The race isn’t just for horsepower anymore — it’s for digits that dazzle. From spiritual sequences to mobile number matches, Chandigarh’s obsession with fancy registration numbers has morphed into a full-blown phenomenon. What began with just 651 auctions in 2020 has now surged past 2,000 annually, with young bidders driving the frenzy and redefining what it means to make a statement on the road.According to RLA records, the authority auctioned 651 registration numbers in 2020. That figure nearly doubled in 2021, reaching 1,157. In 2022, the RLA shattered previous records by auctioning 2,632 numbers. The momentum continued in 2023 with 2,501 numbers sold. Although 2024 saw a slight dip to 1,930, the trend rebounded in 2025, with 1,851 numbers auctioned till August.“The trend has evolved dramatically,” a senior official told TOI. “Earlier, people came for classic fancy numbers—double digits, triple digits, or visually catchy combinations. Now, many seek numbers tied to personal or religious significance, house numbers, or even mobile digits. It’s become a deeply personal choice.”

    Poll

Do you believe spending large amounts on fancy registration numbers is worth it?

This surge in demand has translated into a revenue windfall for the RLA. From Rs 1.53 crore in 2020, earnings from registration number auctions have soared to Rs 10.54 crore by July 2025. Except for 2023, when revenue dipped slightly to Rs 8.54 crore, the authority has consistently crossed the Rs 10 crore mark since 2022. In 2025, the RLA set new benchmarks with three record-breaking bids: Rs 4.08 crore, Rs 3.51 crore, and Rs 2.94 crore, each the highest ever for a single auction.

  • Stoxx 600, CAC, France confidence vote

Stoxx 600, CAC, France confidence vote

LONDON — European stocks started the new trading week on a positive note, as market focus turns to France’s imminent confidence due to take place later in the session.

The U.K.’s FTSE index rose 0.1%, Germany’s DAX was up 0.7%, and France’s CAC 40 was higher by 0.4% in early trades. Meanwhile, Italy’s FTSE MIB fell 0.9%.

Investors will be keeping a close eye on France on Monday, as French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou is widely expected to lose a confidence vote. Bayrou called for the vote himself after ongoing wrangling with rival political parties over around 44 billion euros ($51.5 billion) worth of budget cuts.

Bayrou’s aim was to bring France’s budget deficit down to 4.6% in 2026 — a level still well above the European Union’s deficit rules — but opposition parties have objected to spending cuts and tax rises in equal measure. If Bayrou is ousted on Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron will have to name the country’s fifth prime minister in less than two years.

In equity markets, Dutch semiconductor company ASML has reportedly invested 1.3 billion euros ($1.5 billion) into French startup Mistral AI’s 1.7 billion euro fundraise.

Elsewhere, London-listed insurance group Phoenix said it will rebrand as Standard Life, a heritage brand it owns, from March 2026.

Asia-Pacific markets traded mostly higher on Monday, as investors assessed Japan Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba’s resignation announcement over the weekend and eyed key economic data in the region.

U.S. stock futures were little changed on Sunday, with two critical inflation reports expected this week: the U.S. producer price index report for August is due on Wednesday morning, followed by the consumer price index on Thursday.

The inflation prints will be coming in after weaker-than-expected hiring data on Friday, which helped fuel investor hope that the U.S. Federal Reserve is likely to lower benchmark interest rates at its policy meeting later this month.

There are no major European earnings or data releases scheduled on Monday.

AI godfather Geoffrey Hinton reveals once a girlfriend used AI to dump him: ‘I don’t think I had been…’

Geoffrey Hinton, also known as Godfather of AI, recently revealed that he was once dumped by a girlfriend who used AI to end their relationship. In an interview with Financial Times, Hinton said his ex-girlfriend asked the AI chatbot to explain why he had been a “rat”. The AI bot then generated a response criticizing the Noble prize winner’s behaviour. “She got the chatbot to explain how awful my behaviour was and gave it to me,” he told FT. The 76-year-old computer scientist added that he did not agree with the chatbot’s description. “I didn’t think I had been a rat, so it didn’t make me feel too bad. I met somebody I liked more, you know how it goes,” he said.Should one use AI models like ChatGPT for relationship problemsThe incident highlights how AI is finding its way into everyday life. From writing emails to helping with routine tasks — and even being used to deliver a breakup — AI is becoming a growing part of how people communicate.Notably, ChatGPT-parent company OpenAI has issued guidelines asking users not to unload their relationship problems to the AI chatbot. In August, the company announced a series of changes its rolling out to ChatGPT to better support users during difficult times.“When you ask something like ‘Should I break up with my boyfriend?’ ChatGPT shouldn’t give you an answer,” the company said in a statement about the changes. “It should help you think it through—asking questions, weighing pros and cons. New behavior for high-stakes personal decisions is rolling out soon.”

    Geoffrey Hinton ‘nuclear bomb’ warning

Hinton recently sounded an alarm about the technology’s potential for harm. The recent public frenzy over AI tools like ChatGPT has caused Hinton to shift from accelerating AI development to raising deep concerns about its future. He now believes that AI poses a grave threat to humanity, saying that the technology can help any person to create a nuclear bomb. Hinton described a chilling scenario where AI could enable an average person to create a bioweapon.“A normal person assisted by AI will soon be able to build bioweapons and that is terrible,” he said, adding, “Imagine if an average person in the street could make a nuclear bomb.”
