  • Lindsay Lohan on Being Pigeonholed With Acting Roles

Lindsay Lohan on Being Pigeonholed With Acting Roles

Lindsay Lohan is opening up about her feelings of being pigeonholed by roles she’s played in the past as a longstanding actress in the entertainment industry.

After starring in 1998’s The Parent Trap when she was 12, Lohan’s career skyrocketed. She went on to appear in many more beloved projects, including Freaky Friday and Mean Girls, and she is next up set to reprise her role in the former film with the 2025 followup Freakier Friday

In a Saturday profile with The Times U.K., Lohan admitted that she “wanted to take a minute” to herself, which saw her shy away from leading roles from 2013 until 2022.

“I was losing that feeling of excitement about doing a film, and I wanted to live my own life for a bit, figure out how to have a more private life, a real life,” she explained. “I wanted to wait to get that itch again.”

A new project Lohan is admittedly excited about is her upcoming Hulu Drama Count My Lies, where she will star and produce. Still, when reflecting on her career thus far and asked if she felt “pigeonholed,” she replied, “Yeah, I do.”

“I was so thrilled to work on A Prairie Home Companion, and yet even today I have to fight for stuff that is like that, which is frustrating. Because, well, you know me as this — but you also know I can do that. So let me! Give me the chance,” Lohan said. “I have to break that cycle and open doors to something else, leaving people no choice. And in due time, if Martin Scorsese reaches out, I’m not going to say no.”

At the Los Angeles premiere of Freakier Friday, Lohan told The Hollywood Reporter that moving forward in her career, she would “like to take on some more serious, dramatic roles,” further noting that she felt a bit of pressure to stick to the rom-com genre.

“I love doing romantic comedy because that’s where my home is and I feel like where my fans want to see me, but I’d like to take on some things that are different; maybe find something that’s an action-packed film. Just really show people a different side of me,” she added.

  • Release Date, Theme, Halo and More

Release Date, Theme, Halo and More

Fortnite’s Season 3 included a standout superhero theme, but there are plenty of other ways to save the world (and the Battle Royale island). As the game’s next update approaches, leaks are revealing extraterrestrial threats and several more heroic cosmetic collabs. Fan-favorite franchises like Halo, Power Rangers, One Punch Man and Peacemaker may all make appearances. Let’s explore everything we know so far about Fortnite Season 3, including its release date, contents, key info and meta implications.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 will release on Thursday, August 7 2025. Its exact release date and time will vary depending on server regions and player locations.

Fortnite Season 4 will transport players to an extraterrestrial world with a brand-new theme. In addition, leaks from the community indicate that four collabs are coming soon, with one from another beloved FPS title. Epic Games will also refresh the Battlepass, with several easy skin opportunities.

Like every phase change, Fortnite Season 4 will completely reinvent the game’s core theme. After Season 3’s Superhero Academy, players will launch into an extraterrestrial world filled with aliens and creepy, crawly insect-like critters. According to leak account @HYPEX, this Season’s theme title is “Shock ‘N Awesome.” HYPEX also claims its tagline is:

“Investigate the start of the bug invasion, and ready up for the fight against the insect adversaries on August 7!”

Fortnite officially announced a collaboration with fellow FPS franchise Halo on August 2 2025. The game’s official X.com account posted an image of a Spartan trekking across the Battle Royale island, saying, “Yeah, we called the experts in for this one.”

In a reply, Fortnite further clarified that several Halo Spartan skins will arrive in the Battlepass beginning on August 7. In addition, the community is speculating that Halo could be even more involved with other items and in-game opportunities. For example, @FNBRIntel claims the drop may include an Energy Sword Pickaxe.

    Known Halo skins so far:

Epic Games partner and Fortnite insider @ShiinaBR also claims the team has confirmed a Power Rangers collab, saying “Fortnite responded to the leaks.” The collab is reportedly coming soon, most likely within the next Season. It will probably include several Power Rangers skins, and @ShiinaBR also claims at least one Power Rangers skin will be included in the Battlepass.

Known power rangers skins so far:

Fortnite is no stranger to anime collabs. Geeky gamers will recognize Deku and Gojo on the battlefield, alongside Naruto, Kakashi and Goku. According to leaker @SamLeakss, Fortnite x One Punch Man is the next anime-themed venture. SamLeakss claims the drop is “set for next update”, meaning it could drop as soon as August 7. However, they caution that “the date could change, but it’s very unlikely to.”

@SamLeakss claims the Fortnite x OPM release will include:

Several additional Fortnite leakers have reposted and tagged @SamLeakss’ post, adding to its likelihood.

DC is seeing a resurgence after its successful Superman 2025 film, which also starred in Fortnite’s Season 3 superhero theme. It seems Fortnite may continue its DC partnership in Season 4 with a Peacemaker collab, based on the currently airing show also directed by James Gunn.

This information stems from @FNBRintel and @ShiinaBR. @FNBRintel claims “the Peacemaker […] collabs were being saved for the new season of the show.” Peacemaker Season 2 releases on Thursday, August 21 2025, marking it as a possible release date.

The Fortnite x Peacemaker collab reportedly includes:

It’s difficult to tell exactly how Fortnite Season 4 will affect the competitive meta without in-depth information about item, weapon, map and balance adjustments. A few clues are pointing towards potential shake-ups.

The Fortnite x Halo teaser shows tall mountains and alien tentacle structures in the distance. The island map may change or include new locations. In addition, players may encounter events or mini-bosses following the “alien invasion” theme. With all the Season’s collabs revolving around super-soldiers and superheroes, it’s also extremely possible that players could encounter new weapons and abilities.

All that noted, several consistent changes occur each time Fortnite releases a major Season update. First, the player count will always spike, resulting in faster queue times and more active lobbies. While this is most noticeable at the initial patch, it will repeat with each staggered skin bundle release.

A new Season also offers fresh tournament opportunities and ranked resets for Competitive players. Whether you’ll be fighting extraterrestrial beings in sidequests or fighting to restore your shiny rank badge, there are surely plenty of surprises ahead.

New Image From The Heart Of A Mysterious Galaxy – Eurasia Review

For more than 150 years, the OJ 287 galaxy and its brightness variations five billion light years away has both puzzled and fascinated astronomers, because they suspect two supermassive black holes are merging in the core.

An international research team led by Dr Efthalia Traianou of Heidelberg University recently succeeded in taking an image of the heart of the galaxy at a special level of detail. The groundbreaking image, taken with the aid of a space radio telescope, shows a heretofore unknown, heavily curved segment of the plasma jet spinning off the galaxy’s center. The image provides new insights into the extreme conditions that prevail around supermassive black holes.

The core of the OJ 287 galaxy belongs to the class of blazars that exhibit high activity and striking luminosity. The driving forces behind these active galactic cores are black holes. They absorb matter from their surroundings and can fling it off in the form of giant plasma jets comprised of cosmic radiation, heat, heavy atoms, and magnetic fields. “We have never before observed a structure in the OJ 287 galaxy at the level of detail seen in the new image,” emphasizes Dr Traianou, a postdoctoral researcher in the team of Dr Roman Gold at the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing of Heidelberg University.

The image, which penetrates deep into the galaxy’s center, reveals the sharply curved, ribbon-like structure of the jet; it also points to new insights into the composition and the behavior of the plasma jet. Some regions exceed temperatures of ten trillion degrees Kelvin – evidence of extreme energy and movement being released in close proximity to a black hole. The researchers also observed the formation, spread, and collision of a new shock wave along the jet and attribute it to an energy in the trillion-electron volt range from an unusual gamma ray measurement taken in 2017.

The image in the radio range was taken with a ground-space radio interferometer consisting of a radio telescope in Earth’s orbit – a ten-meter-long antenna of the RadioAstron mission on board the Spektr-R satellite – and a network of 27 ground observatories distributed across the Earth. In this way, the researchers were able to create a virtual space telescope with a diameter five times greater than the diameter of the Earth; its high resolution stems from the distance of the individual radio observatories to one another. The image is based on a method of measurement that takes advantage of the wave nature of light and the associated overlapping waves.

The interferometric image underpins the assumption that a binary supermassive black hole is located inside galaxy OJ 287. It also provides important information on how the movements of such black holes influence the form and orientation of the plasma jets emitted. “Its special properties make the galaxy an ideal candidate for further research into merging black holes and the associated gravitational waves,” states Efthalia Traianou.

  • Lunar Outpost celebrates release of Lego Moon Rover Space Vehicle

Lunar Outpost celebrates release of Lego Moon Rover Space Vehicle

    August 2, 2025

    — Browsing the toy aisle at Target, Ari and Aiden were in for a surprise. There, among the newly-stocked Lego sets, was a box with an image of a familiar looking space vehicle.

“I pointed at the box and said, ‘Hey, what’s that?’ and they said, ‘It’s MAPP!’” said Andrew “AJ” Gemer, Ari and Aiden’s father. “They didn’t even know we had a Lego set until the day it was released.”

“It was cool to see their faces light up like that,” he said in an interview.

The box for the new Lego Technic Lunar Outpost® Moon Rover Space Vehicle identifies the kit as being for ages 10 and above, but Semer’s six and three year old had good reason to recognize the Mobile Autonomous Prospecting Platform, or MAPP, as the smallest of the three builds in the 1,082-piece kit. That was their dad’s robotic moon rover.

Gemer is the co-founder and chief technology officer at Lunar Outpost, the Colorado company behind MAPP and other solutions for lunar surface mobility, commercial space robotics and space resource utilization. Among other current projects, Lunar Outpost is one of three companies from which NASA will pick a lunar terrain vehicle (LTV) for its Artemis astronauts to use when exploring the moon’s south pole.

On Saturday (Aug. 2), the day after the Lego set debuted on store shelves, Gemer and his sons, along with other Lunar Outpost representatives were at Space Center Houston in Texas to celebrate the release. The company set up a booth as part of the center’s “Astronaut Days” activities where kids (and their parents) could learn more about the company, play with Lego bricks and maybe win one of the new $99.99 sets to take home.

    Beyond the MAPP

The first (real-life) MAPP arrived on the moon on March 6, three days after Lego teased at a “future product and more than a few surprises” with its announcement of the Lunar Outpost partnership. The Danish toy brand had worked with NASA before, but this was its first joint effort with a private space company.

“For generations, the Lego Group has been creating amazing space sets that empower children and space-enthusiasts to reach for the stars and expand their imaginations,” said Daniel Meehan, creative lead for space at the Lego Group, in a statement. “This new Lunar Outpost Lego Technic model builds upon this legacy, celebrating a new chapter in space exploration and the extraordinary discoveries to come.”

Unfortunately, the commercial lunar lander on which MAPP rode to the moon tipped over and trapped the bread-box size, four-wheeled rover inside its “garage.”

Fortunately, the Lego set and Lunar Outpost were already focused beyond that first MAPP.

“There are threads for our whole company’s history, philosophy and our vision for the future woven throughout the set,” said Semer. “It includes the ISRU [in-situ resource utilization) processing plant. It has a rover that goes and collects the resources — the balls and crystals — and brings them to the plant.”

“It also has themes of multi-scale robotics. There is a large rover that can deploy a smaller rover, a parent and child rover type architecture, which is something that we really want to see on the moon,” he said. “And then, features like the robotic arm doing the manipulation. So yeah, it has a lot of tie-ins to what we plan to do in the future.”

The set’s large, main futuristic rover with its rocker suspension, four-wheel steering, deployable solar panels and rotating arm is not based on any specific vehicle Lunar Outpost is building now, but was inspired by the company’s plans.

    More to come

“We have five lunar surface missions in total booked, One of the upcoming ones is really cool. It’s with the Australian Space Agency, so it will be Australia’s flagship lunar rover, which they affectionately call “Roo-ver,” which I just love,” said Semer.

Lunar Outpost’s next MAPP is targeted for launch the spring 2026. Using science instruments developed by NASA and the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU APL), the rover will investigate a magnetic anomaly that has gone unexplained for hundreds of years.

“So those missions will be going, [but] we want to do bigger things, better things, more collaborative, robotic missions. We really want to be the foundational infrastructure on the moon,” Semer told collectSPACE. “Mobility is one of those key enablers to building big and exciting things like a permanent human presence on the moon. So that’s why we set out to be the leaders in space mobility and I think that’s what we’ve accomplished.”

Similarly, Lego is a leader when it comes to inspiring the next generation as to what is possible.

“I bet most engineers started out as a kid playing with Lego,” said Semer. “We’ve got lots of great work to do with Lego, because it’s one of those foundational, inspirational things for kids in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). Tying that to space exploration, which is another one of those things everyone can connect with, it’s just a really natural partnership.”

Which brings it all back to Ari and Aiden and the Moon Rover Space Vehicle set.

“We built the MAPP rover, and then the resource collection rover. We are working our way up to the big one,” said Semer. “I just want them to enjoy building it.”

  • Indian singer loved for his nasal twang makes a comeback

Indian singer loved for his nasal twang makes a comeback

    Zoya Mateen

    BBC News, Delhi

Himesh Reshammiya/Instagram Himesh Reshammiya seen singing at his concert in Delhi in a black jacket and cap Himesh Reshammiya/Instagram

Himesh Reshammiya has given Bollywood some of its most popular songs

At the beginning of his first show in years, Indian musician Himesh Reshammiya – known for his distinct nasal voice – poses a question: “Should I sing from my mouth or through my nose?”

“Through the nose!” the crowd responds, their euphoric chants drowning in a blast of orchestral music.

A splash of synth and drums follows, as red lights strobe over the fans gathered at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Arena stadium. And then comes the unmistakable crooning: “Aashiq banaya aap ne (You have turned me into a lover),” Reshammiya whispers, his signature twang ringing from every corner. The crowd erupts into screams again.

By the end of the night, legions of fans hailed it as the best concert of their lives.

Reshammiya, one of Bollywood’s leading composers and singers, has long been a polarising figure in Indian pop culture – mocked for his nasal vocals yet loved for that very uniqueness.

Even at the peak of his career, when his songs blared from every city, street and gathering of the country, his singing would get associated with poor taste and “cringe” sensibilities.

But it’s this contradiction – along with his ever-evolving persona, unabashed personality, and unapologetic approach to music – that has cemented his cult status.

A few years ago, he was written off after shifting focus from music to acting – but those career obituaries proved premature.

Now he is back, singing the same songs in the same style – and yet managing to attract tens of thousands of fans, both old and new.

In Delhi, during two back-to-back shows, his nasal voice stayed sharp, hitting every note flawlessly without missing a beat.

Tens of thousands of people attended the concert in Delhi

Everything was intended to evoke nostalgia – the set list was drawn from the late 2000s, during which he released some of his most memorable songs. Fans received replicas of his iconic red cap – glittering with HR initials – worn by Reshammiya along with his signature black leather robes that inspired a fashion subculture.

Behind him, the production took care of everything else: the energetic dance troupes, sophisticated light and sound backdrops and a full-fledged backing orchestra. “Are you ready to turn this stadium into a nightclub?” he roared.

Fans seemed to be on a whole other level of euphoria, jumping out of their seats and breaking into little dances. Some came dressed like him – black cap, black jacket and a cropped beard – and carried banners: “Love you, Lord Himesh”.

“This feels like time travel – these songs were the sound of my teenage life,” a woman screamed in between the sonic booms of the bass.

With each song, even Himesh seemed more unrestrained. At one point he indulged the audience a little: “They want me to end the show at 10. But don’t you want me to sing for you the entire night?”

The impact was disarming. With the success of his concert, Reshammiya had once again taken the tag of “cringe” and managed to make it subersively cool.

He became not just a man, “but a lowercase god of post-ironic worship: Lord Himesh. In fact, the whole idea of calling someone ‘Lord’ is just ironic surrender,” writes journalist Anurag Minus Verma.

But how did he do it?

Himesh Reshammiya/Instagram Spotlights flash over Reshammiya as he sings in front of thousands of people gathered at a stadium in Delhi for his show Himesh Reshammiya/Instagram

Born in Mumbai into a musical family – his father was a well-known composer and producer – Reshammiya started his career as a TV producer at the age of 17.

In his free time, he would compose his own songs. “I would keep a repository of tunes ready with me, waiting for the right moment to unleash them on the world,” he said in an interview earlier this year.

That moment arrived in 1998, when he made the music for Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya, starring Bollywood star Salman Khan. The film was a roaring success and earned Reshammiya mainstream recognition.

As his stature as a composer grew, Reshammaiya famously featured as one of the judges in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, a hugely popular reality TV singing show. It was here that he coined the famous line, “Jai Mata Di Let’s Rock” – an eclectic war cry that mashed devotion (by invoking a revered Hindu goddess) with rockstar energy, and has become emotional memorabilia for his fans.

Things seemed to be going a certain direction until 2005, when Reshammiya completely flipped the script with the film Ashiq Banaya Aapne..

Enter: the nasal era. Largely a composer until then, Reshammiya sang several songs on the album in a style that was unheard of in Bollywood, although he claimed he sounded nasal because he has a high-pitched voice.

Whatever it was, the twangy sound flew with the masses. “Often the songs were lousily produced but the words were so emotional and the melodies so catchy that no one cared,” says Uzair Iqbal, a Bengaluru-based musician.

He even looked younger, swapping his clean-shaven exuberance for a moodier vibe, crooning ballads beneath a cap and shades that hid his face.

In 2005 Reshammiya underwent a transformation, introducing the world to his signature nasal voice

Jokes followed him, along with scathing critics who dismissed him as a fleeting trend and his music as corny and repetitive.

But with every hit – he had at least 30 in one year – he got closer to challenging these notions. His iconic partnership with actor Emran Hashmi, earned him the moniker “hit machine”. In 2006, he became the first Indian to perform at London’s Wembley Stadium.

“Seeing this man own his corniness, his ‘nasal’ critique felt freeing in a time where perfection is curated to obnoxious levels,” says Mabel Ghosh, a Delhi-based fan.

Then at the peak of his stardom, Reshammiya opted for another grandiose reinvention – and turned to acting.

By his own admission, it was a bold move, one that turned him into one of the most famously memed figure in India. His stoic stares on screen lent themselves to so many jokes that newspapers wrote articles about it.

Reshammiya has enjoyed limited success as an actor – but his music remains hugely popular

But he flipped that around too. Between extreme fandom and pouring scorn, Reshammiya took the best from both and turned it into something unique and inordinately fun.

So when people made fun of him, he joined in. The most endearing moment happened during the pandemic when videos of him working out – poker-faced and staring right into your soul – sparked waves of jokes online. Instead of getting discouraged, he began to post more.

“People wondered what the hell was I doing? I was just vibing with my fans. Enjoy life man, don’t take it so seriously,” he famously said.

His films, most of them self-produced, have enjoyed limited success but he stays on course. “With the right film, I can do wonders. I know people would mock me for saying this, but I know what I am doing.”

It was this same unapologetic attitude that made his show a roaring success too.

Despite the ridicule, Reshammiya is not interested in chipping away bits of his personality – instead he embraces his quirks, turning them into a commercially successful signature.

“Reshammiya is one for the masses, one of the great cultural equalisers in India,” Mr Ghosh says.

“He’s been proudly owning his style for years – now his fans are too, even the reluctant and ironic ones.”

Back at the concert, two friends were having a conversation.

“Why do you think I like his songs this much? Is it nostalgia?” one of them asks.

“Bro, his songs still slap,” the other responds. “What else do you need?”

Your Daily TeenScope for August 03, 2025

Let’s face it—most “teen” horoscopes are written by folks whose ages haven’t ended with “-teen” since 2002 and are subsequently pretty cringe. We can’t guarantee that our daily horo will never be cringe, but we can guarantee that it’ll at least be useful.

    Aries

You are not amused by all the weirdness going on around you today — especially because so much of it seems to work against your plans. The good news is that your eventual success will be that much sweeter.

    Taurus

You can make a big splash today without too much trouble — one that could get the right people to see you in the right way. If you’re part of an election or trying to promote something, it’s perfect.

    Gemini

Your energy levels are just a little bit lower than usual, and you might find it easier to let others take the lead — for now. Work at your own pace and make sure nobody tries to rush you.

    Cancer

Be more careful with big, ongoing projects or activities — it’s way too easy for you to bite of more than you can chew. Once your gut check says it’s okay, go for it with all you have.

    Leo

It is just way too easy for you to get wrapped up in stuff that doesn’t matter thanks to your ego. If you can just remember what matters and what doesn’t you should be able to coast through the day.

Find your cosmic purpose. Receive personalized astrological guidance with Astrology+.

    Virgo

Take a big step back and figure out whether what you’re trying to do really makes sense. You might be on the right track, but for now, you’re removed from any feedback that can tell you yes or no.

    Libra

You don’t have to say yes to everyone who asks for a favor today — but you don’t have to tell everyone no. Try to keep a balance between being generous and stretching yourself too thinly.

    Scorpio

You feel like a whole new person today. It may stem from something that happened recently, or it may just be your positive energy lifting you up high, but you don’t really care so much.

    Sagittarius

Indulge your imagination today — it may be your only shot at figuring out that big puzzle. When your left-brain turns up empty, sometimes all you can do is let your intuition have a go.

    Capricorn

You’re feeling quite hopeful about something that’s coming up soon. It may be a party, an application to a program or something that’s meaningful only to you, but your optimism should help you in a big way.

    Aquarius

You’re feeling a bit more awkward than usual — which could be a major hassle or just one of those things, depending on how you look at it. Try your best to breeze through it all.

    Pisces

Your good energy puts you in such a bright mood that you may accidentally sign on for something you don’t really have the time for — so watch out. Try to delay any big decisions for a few days.
