  • FKA Twigs Replaces Doechii as Headliner at All Points East Festival

FKA Twigs Replaces Doechii as Headliner at All Points East Festival

The singer also hinted at a new album to follow up the recent Eusexua

Earlier this week, Doechii unexpectedly pulled out of appearances at three major festivals for unknown reasons — but at least we now know who will be filling in for her at one of them. FKA Twigs has stepped in to take over the headlining spot of Saturday’s All Points East festival in London.

FKA Twigs will headline on the West Stage, joining a lineup already headlined by Raye and also featuring sets by Tyla, Jade, Eliza Rose, and others.

For Twigs, the timing couldn’t be better: She’s suddenly everywhere. Last month, she dropped a new track, the creamy dance strut “Perfectly.” During her solo segment at Blackpink’s summer show at Wembley in London, Rosé showed video footage of her and Twigs doing shots and riding a train to the venue.

Twigs also posted an enigmatic photo on her socials that showed her looking pregnant — but the snapshot could also be a sign that a new album is forthcoming. (She later shared photos from what appeared to be the same photoshoot, sans pregnant belly.) She recently told a crowd at a Dutch festival that she’s finished Eusexua Afterglow, a follow-up to this last January’s Eusexua, but its release date hasn’t yet been announced. (Rolling Stone has reached out to reps for Twigs for confirmation.)

To date, Doechii has not given any explanation for her decision to drop out of the lineup of All Points East, Rock en Seine, or Forwards Festival.

Ajay Devgn is reportedly gearing up for J.P. Tuminadu’s upcoming project after the release of Son of Sardaar 2.

The 56-year-old actor, known for his versatile performances, is set to star in a much-awaited horror-comedy.

A source close to the development told Pinkvilla, “Ajay Devgn is always open to hear stories from creators all across, and he has loved the idea presented to him by JP Tuminadu. He has asked the filmmaker to come back with a full script, and the next meeting will take place in a month’s time. Ajay has not been a part of a proper horror comedy, and this one falls right in the zone that he was on the lookout for.”

The insider later revealed that Tuminadu’s directorial is expected to go on floors in 2026.

The source added, “KVN Production is making two films in Hindi – one is Haiwaan with Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, and the second is an untitled horror comedy with Ajay Devgn in the lead. The banner is looking to expand in Hindi, and the two films will mark their full-length foray into the Hindi Film Industry.”

The Raid star, last seen in Son of Sardaar 2, will begin shooting for Drishyam 3 in October, followed by Golmaal FIVE in January.

  • ‘Office’ Spinoff ‘The Paper’ Getting Binge Release on Peacock

‘Office’ Spinoff ‘The Paper’ Getting Binge Release on Peacock

Peacock is changing the release schedule for its Office follow-up The Paper.

The NBCUniversal-owned streamer says it will make the comedy a binge release, debuting the full 10-episode season on Sept. 4. The Paper had previously been slated to roll out over four weeks, with the first four episodes coming on the premiere day and two per week after that through Sept. 25.

Citing positive responses from people who have previewed the series (though not in print; reviews are embargoed until closer to the premiere), Peacock, Universal Television and the show’s producers decided to make the change and drop the entire season at once. The move will also put the entirety of The Paper in front of audiences several weeks before the start of the traditional TV season makes the premiere calendar even more crowded.

The Paper is set in the same world as The Office, with the documentary crew that filmed the workers of Dunder Mifflin taking on a new subject. It stars Domhnall Gleeson as Ned Sampson, the new editor of the Toledo Truth-Teller, a historic Ohio newspaper that has fallen on hard time. Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key and Oscar Nuñez — reprising his Office role — also star. Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim and Tracy Letts have guest roles. Ikumelo, Edelman, Rahill and Welch are also writers on the series.

Greg Daniels, who created the American Office, and Michael Koman co-created The Paper. They executive produce with The Office creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas.

  • BBC confirms Celebrity Traitors will air in October

BBC confirms Celebrity Traitors will air in October

The first series of the Celebrity Traitors is set to air in October, the BBC has confirmed.

About 19 famous faces will compete in the game of deception and betrayal in the Scottish Highlands to win up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.

The celebrity edition will see stars including actor and broadcaster Sir Stephen Fry, Olympian Tom Daley, singer Charlotte Church and TV presenter Kate Garraway.

The show, set in Ardross Castle, will also feature actress Celia Imrie, comedian Alan Carr, presenter Jonathan Ross, broadcaster Clare Balding and singer Paloma Faith.

A handful of contestants, known as traitors, pick off their castmates, known as the faithful, with nightly “murders”.

Meanwhile the faithful try to work out their identity. If any traitors remain at the end, they win the cash prize.

The third series of The Traitors, which aired in January, attracted more than 10 million viewers.

The BBC said the long-awaited spin-off of the hit show would be “extraordinary”.

Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, the BBC’s unscripted director Syeda Irtizaali said: “It was a real pleasure to cast this series.

“We wanted to have a really broad range of people, but we also wanted people that were real fans of the show, that really understood it.

“I’m not going to say it was easy. Roz, who put the cast together, did an amazing job – but we were pushing on a bit of an open door with most of them.”

The director said she was initially worried about how the celebrities would play the game compared to members of the public who featured in the first three series.

She added: “But we have nothing to worry about.

“They really play the game and some of the things that you’ll see them doing is extraordinary, that’s all I’m going to say.

    “It’s well worth the wait.”

Ms Irtizaali said that a lot of the celebrities had said they were “changed” by appearing on the show.

Other stars joining the group at the castle are former England rugby player and podcaster Joe Marler and singer Cat Burns.

Host Claudia Winkleman previously said: “We’re incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes.

“I’d love to say we’ll take it easy on them and they’ll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks but that would be a lie.”

  • Bleecker Street Nabs Period Horror Thriller ‘Victorian Psycho’

Bleecker Street Nabs Period Horror Thriller ‘Victorian Psycho’

Bleecker Street has acquired the U.S. rights to the psychological horror-thriller Victorian Psycho, directed by Zachary Wigon and starring Maika Monroe, Jason Isaacs and Thomasin McKenzie.

The film adapts the best-selling book by Virginia Feito, who also wrote the script. Set in 1858, the story centers on a governess named Winifred Notty (Monroe) who hides her psychopathic tendencies while arriving to work at a remote gothic manor.

But as the woman takes care of her charges, staff members begin to inexplicably disappear, and the owners of the estate begin to wonder, too late mind you, if their new governess is serving up a spoonful of sugar with a little arsenic on the side.

Bleecker Street plans a theatrical release in 2026 after production gets underway this week in Ireland. Dan Kagan is producing the feature alongside Sébastien Raybaud (Greenland: Migration, Greenland, The Night House) of Anton and Wigon, in association with Anonymous Content. Executive producer credits include Nick Shumaker, Bard Dorros, Feito, Kent Sanderson and Miranda King.

“We are proud to partner with this incredible creative team on Victorian Psycho. Zach’s vision is thrilling, and we know every frame will be shocking, unique and for lack of a better word, cutting” Kent Sanderson, CEO at Bleecker Street, said in a statement.

Anton is fully financing the film and is repping international rights. The U.S. distribution deal was negotiated by King and UTA Independent Film Group, CAA Media Finance and Anton on behalf of the filmmakers.

Lil Nas X Hospitalized for Possible Overdose After Charging at Police

The Grammy winner was seen walking down Ventura Boulevard in his underwear

Lil Nas was hospitalized for a possible overdose after charging at officers in Studio City in the early hours of Thursday morning. The rapper was handcuffed before being transported to a local hospital.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to Rolling Stone that a naked man was found walking down Ventura Boulevard at 5:50 a.m after several concerned witnesses called the police. While the LAPD did not confirm the rapper’s name, TMZ shared video of the 26-year-old walking on the same street in his underwear, incoherently speaking to the person taping him, telling them to put the phone down before beginning to mimic a ballroom strut and making comments about a party.

According to the LAPD, the man charged at officers after they attempted to approach him. He was then placed in handcuffs and transported to seek medical care for a possible overdose.

The artist, whose real name is Montero Hill, is currently still being treated at the hospital and could still potentially be charged for a crime by the police.

A rep for Lil Nas X did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone‘s request for comment.

Prior to the incident, Lil Nas X had made a flurry of bizarre posts on his Instagram page, after deleting all earlier posts two days prior. On Wednesday, he shared unreleased music over mirror selfies, his art, and piles of junk in what appears to be his home. His display name had been changed to “QUEEN MADELINE.”

Lil Nas X’s last full-length project was 2021’s Montero. The LP followed up the success of his breakthrough single “Old Town Road” and ensuing mixtape 7. He had begun teasing a new album titled Dreamboy for release this year, starting with the 2024 single “Light Again!”

This is the rapper’s second reported hospitalization this year, having shared a video from a hospital bed this April, explaining he had suffered from partial facial paralysis. He never shared publicly what caused the incident.

  • Austria Picks Bernhard Wenger’s Social Satire ‘Peacock’ as Oscar Entry

Austria Picks Bernhard Wenger’s Social Satire ‘Peacock’ as Oscar Entry

Austria has selected Bernhard Wenger‘s social satire “Peacock” as its entry in the Best International Feature Film category of the 98th Academy Awards.

“Peacock” had its world premiere in Venice Critics’ Week last year, and MK2 sold it to more than 40 countries. It will be released in U.S. theaters on Sept. 19 by Oscilloscope.

The film stars Albrecht Schuch, who was BAFTA nominated for “All Quiet on the Western Front.”

“Peacock” centers on the cultured and confident Matthias, who is available – for a reasonable fee – to fill any social role you desire, from “the perfect son” to the “enlightened boyfriend,” or even “pilot dad” to impress your classmates on Bring Your Parent to School Day. But while Matthias is at the top of his game professionally, his personal life begins to crumble as he detaches from his own identity and burrows deeper into his fictitious lives.

In his review for Variety, Guy Lodge called it “an auspiciously polished and snappy debut,” and suggested its multiple sales were closed “on the strength of its sparkling, readily translatable satire and quicksilver leading turn” by Schuch, adding that the actor delivered “a tremendous comic performance of great physical ingenuity and pent-up emotional desperation.”

The cast also includes Julia Franz Richter, Anton Noori, Theresa Frostad Eggesbø, Salka Weber, Maria Hofstätter, Branko Samarovski, Tilo Nest, Christopher Schärf and Marlene Hauser.

The producers are Michael Kitzberger, Wolfgang Widerhofer, Markus Glaser and Nikolaus Geyrhalter. The executive producers are Michael Kitzberger and Bogdan Büchner. The co-producer is Martina Haubrich. The film is produced by NGF Geyrhalterfilm and Cala Filmproduktion.
