The monarch has unveiled a brand-new glamping village (that’s glamorous camping for the uninitiated) on his Norfolk estate, just in time for the school holidays.

Fifteen safari-style tents have been set up in the woodland at The Sandringham Estate Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite, each boasting stylish comforts you wouldn’t normally find under canvas.

Guests can choose from two or three-bedroom tents, sleeping up to six people, with added home comforts like a fridge, toaster, kettle, hobs, and of course, those all-important mod-cons.

Tucked away in the enchanting Glucksburg Woods, the new super-plush safari tents are bringing a whole new level of luxury to Sandringham.

Set across a sprawling 25-acre site at the heart of the royal estate and just a five-minute drive from King Charles’ own country retreat the hideaway blends woodland charm with modern comfort.

Doja Cat Reveals ‘Vie’ Cover Art & Releases Album Trailer

Doja Cat just put the Vie album rollout into overdrive. The Grammy-winning artist revealed the flowery cover art for Vie on Wednesday (Aug. 20), and released an album trailer to accompany the artwork.

The cover finds Doja serving face with her hands covering her chest, while her head is surrounded by red roses.

“Today, I’m giving my fans access to pre-order my specially signed Vie vinyl & CD,” she wrote to IG. “Every week I’m dropping new, exclusive albums on my store so stay tuned for more, including the first vinyl from my ‘Love Languages Collection.’” Doja’s website has pre-orders available for signed Vie vinyl records and CDs.

The performer continued with the Parisian theme for the album with another trailer on Wednesday, which found her wanting to take a drive in a scarlet red sports car. “Anywhere, nowhere. Just drive,” she tells the driver before jumping out and hopping behind the wheel of another exotic car. Doja also matches the vibe of a mademoiselle while putting her French to the test and posing for photos in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Fans will get their first taste of Vie when Doja’s “Jealous Type” single arrives on Thursday night (Aug. 21). Doja previously told V Magazine that her upcoming LP is a “pop-driven” project.

“I do want to be self-aware enough to admit the fact that this is a pop-driven project,” she said. “I know that I can make pop music, and pop is just that it’s popular. It starts to become a bit of a thing that’s viewed as a sport by people who are just bystanders to it, who enjoy it, but maybe also don’t respect it or what it is, which is just music … They see it as if this is some kind of football for girls and gays.”

Look for Vie to hit streaming services on Sept. 26.

Prince Harry faces demands for palace intervention amid growing outrage

    Prince Harry under fire

Prince Harry’s private VJ Day tribute has sparked fresh outrage, with The Vintage View branding it a “cynical PR stunt.”

To mark the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day, the Duke of Sussex arranged for a letter and wreath to be laid at the Burma Star Memorial timed pointedly after King Charles and Queen Camilla had departed the official service.

In his note, Harry paid tribute to the “Forgotten Army” and honoured his late grandfather, Prince Philip, for his role in the Pacific campaign.

But host Shauna was unconvinced, accusing the Duke of hijacking the solemn occasion to polish his public image.

“How dare he use VJ Day for press releases at the ready for yet another cynical PR stunt?” she fumed, revealing the moment hit painfully close to home as her son’s grandfather fought in New Guinea.

Her fiery reaction zeroed in not only on Harry but also on the media outlets she said enabled the stunt.

Publications like the Daily Mail, Yahoo News, and Page Six ran with glowing headlines such as “Prince Harry’s secret tribute” and “painful reminder of the cost of what he left behind.”

Shauna wasn’t having it. “When is action going to be taken to reign him in? The monarchy isn’t one family’s plaything it’s an institution that belongs to us all.”

She further blasted historians and commentators like Tessa Dunlop and accounts like Tribes on X, calling their praise “vomit-worthy.”

Dr. Tessa Dunlop described Prince Harry’s recent tribute to Pacific War veterans as “a quiet reminder” of the role he was forced to leave behind after stepping away from royal duties.

She argued the gesture showed Harry has not forgotten his most meaningful responsibilities, “even if his own family seems to have forgotten him.

  • Canadian Feature ‘Mortician’ Takes Top Prize At Edinburgh

Canadian Feature ‘Mortician’ Takes Top Prize At Edinburgh

Abdolreza Kahani’s Mortician has won the Sean Connery Prize for Feature Filmmaking Excellence, the top prize at the Edinburgh Film Festival.

The award comes with a £50,000 cash prize and is decided by an audience vote.

The film follows a reclusive mortician who faces an unusual request from a dissident singer in hiding. Mortician was among ten features presented in Competition at EIFF.

Elsewhere, the winner of the Thelma Schoonmaker Prize for Short Filmmaking Excellence Competition was Joanna Vymeris’s Mother Goose. The short film competition winner was also decided on by an audience vote and comes with a £15,000 cash prize.

The short’s synopsis reads: After the death of her husband, Janet decides to distract herself by rearing a goose, which is to be the centrepiece of her Christmas dinner. However, as she grows ever more isolated from her daughter, Janet’s need to nurture the goose becomes an obsession: one which will cost her dearly. A modern-day Grimm’s fairy tale about grief, isolation, and a goose.

EIFF ended this evening, and was Paul Ridd’s second edition in charge. Speaking about the edition, he said: “As the 2025 Edinburgh International Film Festival draws to a close, I am once again moved and humbled by the hard work and astonishing effort that everyone has put into making this Festival stimulating, entertaining, and fun. I am so grateful to all the organisations, teams, and individuals who put their hearts and souls into this.

He added: “I am hugely inspired by all the filmmakers in Competition and beyond, as well as all our special guests, who have worked so brilliantly with us to platform their work on the big screen and have been so generous with their time with audiences and with the industry, who we know very well are hungry for something fresh and exciting. I cannot wait for 2026.”

  • ‘The Penguin’s Colin Farrell On First Time He Saw Oz

‘The Penguin’s Colin Farrell On First Time He Saw Oz

For a guy who grew up loving An American Werewolf in London and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video, Colin Farrell loved how he was the subject of a “justifiably glorified magic trick.”

While promoting the HBO limited series The Penguin at the recent Deadline Contenders at HBO Max event, Farrell recalled how The Batman writer-director Matt Reeves first approached him about becoming an unrecognizable villain named Oswald Cobblepot. At first, Farrell had some playful suggestions for the introduction of his Gotham gangster, like how he could maybe present as a skinny scoundrel. Or better yet, why couldn’t he be reimagined as a long and elegant evildoer?

But Reeves and prosthetics designer Mike Marino had something far more drastic in mind.

“I’ve always loved practical things in cinema and film,” said Farrell, who was joined on the Contenders dais with Marino, showrunner/EP Lauren LeFranc, casting director Suzanne Ryan, and stars Deidre O’Connell (Francis Cobb) and Cristin Milioti (Sofia Falcone). “I struggle with CGI, and I know there’s a time and place, but I struggle with the advent of it, the saturation of CGI in certain films. So to know that we were going to do this practically … I had no idea. I remember the day when I was his office in London, and he said he’d been talking to Marino. He said, ‘We’ve been sending each other pictures back and forth, ideas of body shapes and all that.’ And he said, ‘Have you seen what he designed?’ And I said, no.”

Watch the conversation here and see photos from the event below.

“I’ll never forget it,” continued Farrell. “He opened up his laptop and it was Oz in the film. And I went, ‘What the f*ck is that? Really?’ And he said, ‘Yeah yeah yeah. Marino said he can do it. He can do it every day. It’s gonna move and it’s gonna be real, and you’re gonna have freedom in it.’ I instantly got really excited about the possibilities of it. There was a certain alchemy to it. It’s a very powerful thing to know yourself a certain way and then look at a mirror and see this creature looking back at you. You have no experiential reference point for it. It kind of had an effect for me that was counter to what I thought it would have. It was such a liberating experience, thankfully, because Lauren designed such a despicably dark and really psychologically nuanced character. It just gave me so much range of psychological freedom. I mean, I totally got lost in it, willingly.”

Marino especially liked the slow reveal of Farrell’s Oz in The Batman to HBO Max’s The Penguin, which follows the continuing adventures of the villain as he limps his way through the city’s ruling crime family spearheaded by Milioti’s Falcone.

“In the film, we don’t really see Colin so much,” recalled Marino. “He only had six scenes or so which were the best scenes in the entire film. The fact that no one knew that Colin was going to come out and looking that way was just a huge surprise to everyone, even to Matt Reeves and all the other actors. When you’re making something and you’re sculpting it, you’re creating this look … [but] you’re only going so far as to what it’s going to be like. Then you see how Colin acts and moves inside of it and all that, and it becomes something different … When the TV show came around, it really was seen.”

The Penguin received two Emmy nominations this year for makeup. The others — there were 24 in all — included for Outstanding Limited Anthology Series; Outstanding Actor, Limited Anthology Series (Farrell); Outstanding Actress, Limited Anthology Series (Milioti); and Outstanding Supporting Actress, Limited Anthology series (O’Connell). It was the second best Emmy nom showing for a DC series after HBO’s 2019 series Watchmen.

Milioti remembered being blown away by what she read in that first script. “I’ve been a fan of this world for my whole life,” she said. “I love that no one has super powers, that it’s just like their own rage and pain. I love that it’s like a world in which it’s believable. Gotham is New York adjacent. I love that it’s grounded in reality, but heightened and sort of touches on camp.”

It also dives head-first into pits of straight up evil, like when Oz hovers over his mom’s hospital bed in the final episode. O’Connell recalled how Farrell’s acting “took my breath away” in the psychopathic way that he completely dismisses his once beloved mom.

“This guy,” O’Connell said, while gesturing toward Farrell. “I didn’t know how much he was giving me until we were shooting the very last thing on the show where he comes over to the bed and he asks me how I’m doing. I felt Oz withdraw his love from Francis. He took it away, and it took my breath away. And it was a slightly terrifying feeling. I had not known until that moment how much love this guy had been pouring in my direction and how much surrender he had been pouring in my direction. I just thought, you know, I was great! And in the moment [she turns to Farrell] I don’t know if you know what you did, I think you do. He just turned it off. It was a profound, actual thing. I felt a chill. It was really scary.”

Lil Nas X Returns With Cryptic Images, Song Snippet Featuring Lil Jon

Lil Nas X went on a song spree earlier this year when he surprise-dropped the eight-track Days Before Dreamboy EP, a mini album that collected a clutch of singles he’d released in late 2024 and early 2025. And then… well, things got quiet.

See latest videos, charts and news

The rapper revealed that he was hospitalized in April with what he said was partial facial paralysis, the cause of which was never disclosed, and then popped in to the Jennifer Hudson Show in May to once again tease his follow-up to his 2021 debut full-length LP, Montero. Things went dark again for a few months until this week when Lil Nas wiped his Instagram and re-populated it with song snippets of a number of new tracks featuring A-list collaborators.

The spree started on Tuesday morning (Aug. 19) with a mysterious image of Nas in white cowboy boots and a golden dress holding a pair of lanterns in a room piled high with different colored material on the floor. That was followed by a shot of what appeared to be a desk surrounded by paintings, sculptures, light fixtures and other marginalia, again offered with no context or commentary, as well as a shot of a furry white chair bookended with a dramatic, regal painting of the MC and a white sheet hanging askew behind the tableau.

And then things got really interesting with a playful selfie in which Nas rocked a fur coat and light brown cowboy hat — topped with a crown — and bright red lipstick with the caption, ‘OH NO sHES GONE MAD! CRAZY I TELL U!, followed by a snap of him throwing up a peace sign in front of a computer screen, the floor littered with stereo equipment and a dirty propane tank with the cryptic caption, “the god of music dare i say? me not jay z, no shade.”

A few more images came next, including one of Nas in the gold dress and boots in a lit-up full-length mirror with the tease, “and just like that she’s back. We’ve all waited so long. When dreamworld needed her the most,” which paved the way for an untitled, slow-rolling song produced by Young Kio with a woozy guitar and a throwback to his breakthrough “Old Town Road” cowboy vibe.

“Turn on the cable, Nassy’s out the stable/ B–ch I’m back around, let them n–gas know it’s fatal/
And I ain’t finna take s–t, n–gas better watch it/ You know I love the sound of them rounds when the Glock hit,” he raps on a song whose title appears to be “Black Horse.”

He also dropped a snippet of “Kimbo” featuring Lil Jon, a big beat banger on which he solemnly sings the chorus, “I know you feel pressure/ When nobody’s around/ You Kimbo/ And I know you feel tempted/ When nobody’s around,” before dropping into a greasy verse on which he raps, “I want like three hoes on some Xans/ I’m with YTO and some friends/ I’m a five-star b–ch with a six pack/ Seven n–gas on me whenI walk into that G spot.”

And though he’d earlier shared a snippet of one of his most legendary unreleased songs, “Down Souf Hoes,” featuring Sexyy Red and Saucy Santana, at press time that post had been deleted.

The final two clips, uploaded on Wednesday morning (Aug. 20) find Nas, in boots and a white robe, banging a tambourine and standing in front of the pile of gear pictured in the previous snaps and crooning a cappella, “I want to live/ I want to fight/ I want to live a wondrous life/ I want to go, I want to thrive/ I want to live a wondrous life/ Oh what a life, oh what a life.”

A final video spotlights a poppy, keyboard-heavy untitled song playing over an image of a colorful floor-to-ceiling mural as he sings, “strange things keep happening.” At press time a spokesperson for Lil Nas had not responded to Billboard‘s request for information on the album’s release date and the new song snippets.

  • Science Star Mark Rober Is The Latest YouTuber To Get A Netflix Deal

Science Star Mark Rober Is The Latest YouTuber To Get A Netflix Deal

    Topline

Netflix has announced it will develop an educational family competition show with content creator Mark Rober, its second deal in a year with a popular children’s YouTuber, as the streamer leans into creating new family and kid-friendly content as a proven way to retain subscribers and boost engagement.

    Key Facts

Former NASA engineer and YouTube star Rober, ranked at No. 8 on Forbes’ list of top-earning creators this year, will create and host a new competition series to debut next year combining entertainment and education, much like he aims to do on his social media accounts, where he boasts more than 76 million followers combined.

Netflix did not attach a dollar amount to the deal, but it’s the second the streamer has inked with a children’s educational content creator after signing Ms. Rachel to produce exclusive episodes in January.

That deal has paid off—”Ms. Rachel: Season 1” is inching up on a record for a Netflix show with the most weeks spent on its Top 10 list and is a prime example of how young children can be among the most important demographics for a streaming service.

As viewers, young children are more likely to latch onto a show or movie and rack up viewing hours by watching repeatedly, as evidenced by “Ms. Rachel”—Netflix has only four episodes, but the season was the seventh most-watched on the streamer in the first half of the year with 162 million hours viewed.

Children also hold tremendous sway over their parents’ choice of streaming subscription, with a 2023 YouGov poll showing 49% consider what children’s content is available on a platform before subscribing, almost equal to how many people weigh the platform’s cost before signing up (50%).

Kids’ shows, especially those classified as “dialogue-free” or “low-dialogue,” are also more likely to become international hits than their adult-oriented counterparts, media consultant Emily Horgan told the Los Angeles Times, and shows geared toward pre-school children, like “Ms. Rachel” and “CoComelon” on Netflix, have been particularly successful.

    Forbes Valuation

Rober is estimated by Forbes to have made $25 million in the last year. Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Griffin-Accurso, is estimated to have made $23 million in the same period.

    Key Background

Netflix launched its dedicated children’s section in 2011 with acquired content from sources like PBS and Cartoon Network, then branched into original children’s programming in 2013 with “Turbo FAST,” an animated series based on the DreamWorks Animation film “Turbo.” Within two years, Netflix had made 14 original shows for kids and has only stepped up kids’ content production each year since. “Ms. Rachel,” “Peppa Pig” and “Gabby’s Dollhouse” were among Netflix’s most-watched titles in the first half of 2025, the streamer’s data shows. Later this year, Netflix will also start streaming “Sesame Street.” The streamer picked up the show after Warner Bros. Discovery said it wasn’t renewing its deal with the long-running program, and both new and catalogue episodes will soon be available on Netflix.

    Surprising Fact

Netflix has found some of its biggest successes in adapting programming originally created for YouTube, by far the most popular platform for children. “Cocomelon,” for instance, started as one of the world’s most popular children’s programs (its flagship YouTube channel has 193 million subscribers) before becoming a Netflix show in 2022. It was the second-most-watched program on Netflix in all of 2024, after “Bridgerton.” Netflix acquired the streaming license to “Blippi,” a YouTube channel aimed at toddlers and young children with 25 million followers, in 2022 and announced its “Ms. Rachel” deal in January. The new Rober show, a name for which has not been announced, will premiere in 2026.

    What To Watch For

More children’s content from Netflix. “Barbie Mysteries” will release new episodes Aug. 28. “The Twits,” a film based on Roald Dahl’s 1980 children’s novel of the same name, is set for release in October. The streamer will also be releasing three new Dr. Seuss animated series this fall: “Red Fish, Blue Fish,” “Horton!,” and “The Sneetches.”

    Tangent

Across all streamers in the first half of the year, children’s programming accounted for a large piece of the pie, Nielsen data showed. The popular children’s cartoon “Bluey,” available on Disney+, was streamed for more than 25 billion minutes in the first half of 2025 as the most watched TV show in any category. “Spongebob Squarepants” also made the top-10 list of most popular shows. Six of the top nine most-streamed movies of the year so far are children’s titles, and they accounted for nine of the top 20 overall.
