Oasis’ Noel Gallagher Says ‘It’s Great Being Back in a Band With Liam’

So far, Oasis have let the music do the talking. Liam and Noel Gallagher have just wound up the first round of UK and Irish dates on their sold-out Live ’25 tour and in a testament to the breathless enthusiasm that’s greeted their first round of shows in more than 16 years they’ve hardly had to talk up the dates at all.

In fact, until Tuesday (Aug. 19) neither brother had sat down for a proper interview about the shows at all. But Noel, who like his younger sibling singer Liam, is simply mad about football, called in to his favorite drive-time sports chat show, talkSPORT with Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent, to chat about Man City, and, of course, how things are going with the formerly battling brothers.

Saying he was feeling “a bit shaky” after the band’s two-night run at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday (Aug. 16) and Sunday (Aug. 17), Gallagher summed up the weekend by saying, “there was a lot of singing, a lot of drinking and a lot of talking nonsense… it was quite a night.”

Noel said he’s on “top of the world” at the moment, professing to be “completely blown away” by how the gigs the reunited band have played so far have been received. “It’s difficult to put into words, actually,” said the band’s lyricist. “Every night is the crowd’s first night, so every night’s got that same kind of energy. It’s been truly amazing… I’m not usually short for words, but I can’t really articulate it at the minute.”

Asked how he was feeling on July 4 in Cardiff, Wales, when the band were gearing up to take the stage for the first show of a tour pretty much nobody thought would ever happen, Noel said Oasis have never been one of those bands who have a prayerful “huddle” before they go on. That said, speaking just for himself, Noel admitted he, “grossly underestimated what I was getting into… After about five minutes I was like, ‘All right, can I just go back to the dressing room and start this again?’ I’ve done stadiums before and all but, but I don’t mind telling you my legs are turned to jelly after about halfway through the second song.”

Summing it up, Noel said simply, “it’s been an amazing thing.” Reflecting on the emotional hug the brothers shared at the end of the first reunion show in July, Noel said, “we’re not those kind of guys, really… It’s great just to be back with [guitarist] Bonehead and Liam and just be doing it again. I guess when it’s all said and done we’ll sit and reflect on it, but it’s great being back in a band with Liam. I forgot how funny he was.”

Giving his former sibling rival props for sounding great at the shows, Noel said, “Liam’s smashing it. I’m proud of him.” After fronting his own band for the 16 years they were apart — the High Flying Birds — Noel said he knows the pressures of being the lead singer and admitted, “I couldn’t do the stadium thing like he does it…. I kind of look around and I think, ‘You know, good for you, mate.’ He’s been amazing.”

Also, in case you were wondering, yes, he’s still getting hit up all the time by mates looking to score the hard-to-get tickets. “When it all started, the ticket sales and all that, there was a few people who I would have expected to [be] looking for tickets who didn’t,” he said. “But after the first gig my phone just exploded.” Saying he feels bad for those who are left outside on the streets singing the band’s songs at top volume after getting shut out on getting tickets, Noel said the showering of love is “mental… it’s more than the band. It’s more than the songs. There’s something else going on that we’ve not quite been able to our fingers on yet.

Looking forward, Noel said he’s really looking forward to playing one of the band’s last shows, at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Nov. 15 and 16. “We’ve played there a couple of times and the Argentinians are without doubt in the top five places for us to play in the world.”

When Goldstein brought up persistent rumors that the band might be playing the Knebworth Festival next year on the 30th anniversary of their legendary 1996 headlining slot for 250,000 fans over two nights at that event, Noel politely moved right past that query and insisted they get on with the football talk.

Two Doors Down writer has ‘nailed’ Christmas special, says Grado

    Jonathan Geddes

    BBC Glasgow and West reporter

BBC Grado smiles for the camera - he has close-shaven brown/grey hairBBC

Grado has carved out a career in both wrestling and television

Wrestler and actor Grado has said the return of popular sitcom Two Doors Down surprised the show’s stars as much as fans.

The comedy series was thought to have ended after the sudden death of creator Simon Carlyle in 2023, but it was announced this week that a one-off episode has been filmed for Christmas.

Grado – real name Graeme Stevely – told BBC Scotland News that writer Gregor Sharp “totally nailed” the tone of the series with the new script.

The Ayrshire native also said he will continue to grapple as well as act, ahead of a special appearance for All Elite Wrestling as the American promotion records its TV shows in Glasgow.

Grado joined the cast of Two Doors Down in the show’s third season and said returning to play the rather hapless Alan has been a joy.

The episode has been penned by the show’s co-creator Gregor Sharp, who co-wrote many previous episodes with Carlyle.

Grado said: “We were told it’d never come back, then did a read through of an old episode at the BBC comedy festival last year and it was amazing.

“From the audience reaction we realised how big it was, after I think being a hidden gem for years. Then, randomly, the script arrived for a Christmas special.

“I was like ‘hmm’ because Gregor Sharp is amazing and had co-created it with Simon, but it’s a big thing to take on by yourself. I read it and was like ‘you’ve nailed it – it’s got the sparkle, emotion, the tone.”

He added he would happily sign up for more tales in Latimer Crescent, whether with more TV episodes or in a rumoured stage show at the OVO Hydro.

The popular sitcom will return at Christmas

Grado is already booked for a Hydro appearance on Wednesday, when he returns to the ring with AEW – the upstart promotion that has muscled in on industry leader World Wrestling Entertainment’s turf.

The company has held two shows at Wembley Stadium in 2023 and 2024, and is filming its main TV shows – Dynamite and Collision – in Scotland, before heading to London for a PPV event called Forbidden Door on Sunday.

Grado previously appeared for the group at Wembley, and said he was thrilled to add a homegrown flavour to the company’s Scottish debut.

“The fact they’re bringing two of their weekly shows here is amazing,” he says.

“I made an appearance at Wembley and, although I’ve done plenty in wrestling over the years, that was superb.

“The thing I’m raging about is that I never took it all in, so whatever I do on Wednesday I want to make sure I enjoy it.”

Grado will continue to wrestle as he develops his acting career, he says

The grappler added he would love to work with a couple of the company’s biggest stars – brash and arrogant villain MJF and popular high-flyer Will Osperay.

Though Grado admits that high-flying – where wrestlers use acrobatic moves to attack their opponents, sometimes by leaping from ropes – is not his area of expertise.

He added: “I’d love to wrestle Osperay. Wrestling’s entertainment at the end of the day so you can mix different styles, though I’d probably be devastated for the people who’d paid money to see him, though…”

Grado may not be backflipping from heights, but his mix of good-natured comedy and underdog spirit has led him to a lengthy career, both as a wrestler and as a media personality.

He is a regular radio presenter and pops up in pantomime every winter, as well as being a father at home.

He has another goal in mind for the future – trying acting that moves away from the laughs.

“I really want to do more serious acting,” he said. “I did Crime [TV adaptation of the Irvine Welsh book] as a drug dealer type and it’s such a challenge when you’re usually doing comedy.”

Yet he sometimes can’t help himself with the japes.

Several years ago he was in Florida visiting wresting veteran Jeff Jarrett, which led to a meeting with Hulk Hogan – the controversial wrestling icon who shot to fame during the 1980s.

Grado recalls: “We went to Hogan’s wrestling shop. His manager Jimmy Hart was there, and he’s like ‘wanna meet the big man?’

“Jeff said I was the Scottish version of him, and I don’t know why I did it but I took my top off and started flexing like Hogan would do.

“He was like ‘oh, you’ve got the moves… ‘ It was on Facebook Live though, so about 20 minutes later one of the tabloids did a story and called me Bulk Hogan. That brought me down to Earth…”

  • These Are the Best Radio Frequency Devices to Stimulate Collagen Production

These Are the Best Radio Frequency Devices to Stimulate Collagen Production

At-home access to the best radio-frequency devices is one of the chicest new perks in beauty tech. Beauty aficionados often trace the trend back to CurrentBody’s 2024 RF debut—before then, you’d have to sit yourself in a dermatologist’s chair for a skin-snatching appointment. And while radio frequency may sound like sci-fi jargon, the reality is far more enticing.

London-based medical and cosmetics doctor Leah Totton notes that radio frequency boosts collagen production without harming the epidermis (a.k.a the skin’s outermost layer). “Heat penetrates deep into the skin’s layers, triggering the body’s natural healing response. This stimulates new cell production, while bolstering collagen and elastin production,” Totton tells Vogue. “Consistent treatment can help skin to become noticeably firmer and tighter. Plus, radio frequency devices can also improve blood circulation and lymphatic drainage.”

We’re talking three LED light settings to target different skin concerns, microcurrent technology for toning, and a massage function to boost circulation and ease facial tension. Essentially, it’s a professional-level facial condensed into just a few minutes of daily ritual, making it effortless to keep your complexion refreshed and sculpted from the comfort of your home. Plus, it works with any (generously applied) serum—so you aren’t beholden to using a single specific conductive gel.
    • Target Treatment Area: Face, jawline, and neck
    • Treatment Time: 10 minutes
    • Treatment per week: Three to five
    • Specs: RF, LED light modes, massage functionality

    • How to Use: Select the desired mode and glide gently across the face for 5–15 minutes, adjusting technique to the function.

    Everything You Need to Know

How do radio frequency devices trigger collagen production?

“Radio frequency works by safely heating the deeper layers of your skin to stimulate collagen production. The heat has a tightening effect on existing collagen fibers and signals your body to start making new collagen and elastin over time,” says Rufolo. “This helps your skin become firmer, smoother, and more youthful-looking, with results that continue to improve for several months after the treatment.”

Are RF devices worth investing in?

“As with most aesthetic treatments, not all radio frequency devices are created equal—some deliver much better results than others,” says Rufolo.

Dr. Camp agrees, and while he notes these beauty tools absolutely can be effective, it’s important to be realistic about results. Subtle skin tightening? Sure. Face lift contouring? No. “Radio frequency devices are perfect for people seeking mild, non-surgical skin tightening, or improved skin texture—but you have to be willing to use them consistently,” he says.

How often can you use an at-home RF device?

“Although the usage of an RF device typically varies by brand, they are generally used around two to three times per week in the first few months of usage, then lowered to one to two times for maintenance,” says Dr. Camp, noting that when it comes to these devices, more is not always best. “It’s important not to overdo RF usage as this may lead to skin irritation such as dryness or redness when the skin barrier is disrupted.”

Dr. Totton agrees, adding that a rest period of a day or two in-between sessions is ideal. “It’s worth bearing in mind that in-clinic radio frequency treatments are performed by an experienced aesthetic therapist and temperature is usually moderated throughout use for patient safety,” says Dr. Totten, adding thats it’s all the more important to closely follow your devices specific instruction manual to ensure maximum safety.

What’s the difference between in-clinic and at-home RF?

“In-clinic treatments that utilize radio frequency are an effective way to boost the production of collagen and elastin, offering a gentle alternative to more invasive options. They can reduce skin laxity on the face, neck and body, addressing sagging skin and fine,” says Dr. Totton, noting that while at-home devices work in the same way, they aren’t as strong. “Consequently, results from at-home devices will take longer and more consistent use to be achieved.”

How long does it take to see results from at-home RF?

Remember, patience is key when experimenting with at-home radio-frequency devices. Dr. Totton reminds us that their effectiveness depends on consistent use over several weeks and months. “All devices will vary in results depending on their energy levels, the specific skin concerns of the user, and also how effectively and consistently they are being used,” she says. “However, in general users can expect to see and feel improvements to skin within a month, which should continue to improve as the months progress.”

If you’re the impatient type and want a clearer sense of when the results really kick in, board-certified dermatologist Dr. Nicole Ruth previously told Vogue that collagen production can take 12 to 16 weeks—or even longer—with at-home devices.

    • Dr. Brendan Camp, MD, is a double board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist who sees patients in New York and Long Island.
    • Natia Rufolo, FNP, NP-C is a board-certified aesthetic injector, PDO thread specialist, and founder of INJX BY NAT Aesthetics.
    • Dr. Nicole Ruth is a board-certified dermatologist based in New York.
    • Dr. Leah Totton, MBBS, MBCAM, is a London-based medical doctor and an award-winning cosmetic doctor with 11 years experience and a post-graduate diploma in dermatology. Totton is also the founder of Dr Leah Skin Clinics.

Casting News, Release Date, Plot, Neve Campbell’s Return

[This story includes major spoilers from past Scream films.]

    Incoming: Another anonymous phone call.

For nearly three decades, the Scream franchise has seen iconic final girl Sidney Prescott (played by Neve Campbell) outlive the numerous killers that hide behind Ghostface’s mask while attacking Sidney, her friends and anyone else who gets in the way.

The original Scream movie debuted in 1996 and was directed by the late Wes Craven, as were its sequels through 2011’s Scream 4. Seven years after Craven died in 2015, the slasher franchise was revived in 2022 with Scream, directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin. That film honored Craven and saw the return of Campbell, along with original franchise stars Courteney Cox and David Arquette. However, Campbell was absent from the most recent sequel, 2023’s Scream VI.

Also missing from the franchise’s future are Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, who led the two revival films. They were both set to star in Scream 7 until Barrera was fired in November 2023 due to her social media posts about the Israel-Hamas war. Shortly after being let go, Ortega also exited the project — but voluntarily.

Since the franchise was revamped three years ago, the new Ghostface killers have only gotten more violent. But in Ashley Cullins’ Scream tell-all book, Your Favorite Scary Movie: How the Scream Films Rewrote the Rules of Horror, Scream 7‘s director, Kevin Williamson, revealed that with Campbell coming back, she wanted less gore. “Neve wants to go back to the first one and find the suspense and really concentrate on scary and not bloody,” he said.

But with Scream 7 on the horizon, it’s safe to expect betrayals and key characters returning to the franchise as it prepares to make a killer return next year.

Read on for all the details The Hollywood Reporter has on the next installment.

Fans still have quite a bit of time before the release of HBO’s highly anticipated Harry Potter series, with the network currently aiming for a release window of early 2027.

But as expected, speculation about the series has been running rampant for the past several months, leading to fans seizing upon every bit of information they can about the upcoming fantasy series.

Speaking with BBC News, 11-year-old actor Dominic McLaughlin, who’s officially set to portray the title character following Daniel Radcliffe’s lengthy stint in the Harry Potter film series, spoke about his casting in the mainstream HBO series, as well as the “surreal” experience he had of donning the character’s signature costume for the first time.

Asked by the BBC News team what it was like to play the famed Boy Who Lived, McLaughlin replied, ““A bit surreal to be honest, because I was always a huge Harry Potter fan when I was younger. And it was like the dream role, of course, so I’m thrilled to be able to be doing it.”

Details about the publicized Harry Potter remake have been kept tightly under wraps, but the brand-new series remains in active development in the United Kingdom.

Along with McLaughlin, several other prominent casting announcements were made about some of the show’s key characters, including Arabella Stanton’s casting as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout’s casting as Ron Weasley.

  • Michael Sheen says prospects for actors from poorer backgrounds ‘quite scary’ | Michael Sheen

Michael Sheen says prospects for actors from poorer backgrounds ‘quite scary’ | Michael Sheen

Michael Sheen has warned the pathways that helped him break into acting have all but collapsed, as he said the “bank of mum and dad” would be unable to support aspiring actors from poorer communities.

The Bad Omens star, who grew up in the working class community of Port Talbot, said he had benefited from school support, youth theatres and grants that have since come under financial pressure or been abolished entirely.

He said his journey was also aided by a supportive family and the knowledge that his home town had already produced acting royalty in Richard Burton and Sir Anthony Hopkins. However, he said the prospect for actors from underprivileged backgrounds now looked “quite scary”.

“Having those school plays where the drama was happening in my school – then there was a youth theatre that was funded through the education department of the council, and then I got a grant to go to drama school,” said Sheen, who was speaking at an event opening the Edinburgh TV Festival. “So just to get to the point of going to drama school, all of those things sort of had to be in place. All of those things have gone, essentially.

“It does worry me that for young people who might want to get into this – if you are relying on the bank of mum and dad – it’s really tough to even just go and live in London, or move to wherever. That’s why it’s so important we get stuff out of London and around the country.”

His comments come amid wider concern in the TV world about narrowing access. A crisis in the industry has left many established freelance workers out of a job as production has slowed down and the industry adapts to fast-changing consumption habits.

It has led to fears that those without resources behind them will be the first forced out of the industry that already faces allegations of having too many privately educated executives.

Sheen said there were schemes to support actors from all backgrounds, but he feared they came too late in life to help some talented children. He advocated a system more like football scouting, spotting talent at a younger age.

“It needs to be like football,” he said. “You need to get them when they’re six, seven years old – start supporting people much younger and help them, because a lot of people are just never going to get to the point where they get picked up in these sorts of programmes and projects.”

Sheen said he was trying to address the issue with his new Welsh National Theatre, whose first production, Our Town, by the US playwright Thornton Wilder, has been put through a “Welsh lens” by the Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies.

Sheen said that he was now able to spend time helping his home community in Port Talbot thanks to his success as an actor. However, he revealed he did not have immediate success in Hollywood, initially finding himself spending “most of my time sitting in diners, reading Stephen King novels and doing very little”.

He said it was only when he played Tony Blair in the Channel 4 drama The Deal in 2003, which led to him playing the former prime minister again in The Queen three years later, that his Hollywood career took off.

“I’ve gone from sitting in diners reading Stephen King novels on my own completely, to then having a very different life and opening up all kinds of opportunities back here as well as over there – and suddenly having a bit of choice and all those kinds of things.”

Jillian Michaels Slams ‘Biggest Loser’ Documentary—Reportedly May Sue

    Topline

Jillian Michaels, a former trainer on the NBC reality show “The Biggest Loser,” told TMZ she may sue over a new Netflix docuseries highlighting what former contestants say was cruel treatment, specifically refuting an allegation that trainers on the show broke rules by giving contestants caffeine supplements to lose weight, since she claimed that was never actually one of the show’s rules.

    Key Facts

Michaels, who did not participate in the documentary, told TMZ on Tuesday morning she is meeting with lawyers about filing a lawsuit against Netflix, producers of the documentary, former trainer Bob Harper and a doctor who appeared on the show for making what she says are false claims.

Michaels said in an Instagram post Tuesday morning caffeine was “NEVER banned on ‘The Biggest Loser,’” refuting an allegation made in the docuseries that trainers gave contestants caffeine pills despite being against the show’s rules.

Michaels shared emails from 2009 on Instagram, which appear to show the trainers and producers coordinating to provide contestants caffeine supplements.

TMZ reported Michaels is meeting on Tuesday with Bryan Freedman, an entertainment lawyer also representing Justin Baldoni in his legal battle against Blake Lively (Forbes has reached out to Freedman for comment).

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

  • Soundtracks With Three or More Billboard Hot 100 Top 10s

Soundtracks With Three or More Billboard Hot 100 Top 10s

In the 1970s, ‘80s and ‘90s, many blockbuster movies were practically synonymous with the music featured in them or on their star-packed soundtracks. For some films, music was woven into their plots, making for a natural fit, such as the dance floor odes Saturday Night Fever and Footloose.

In other cases, musical superstars segued to on-screen starring roles — and did double duty by supplying memorable songs, such as Prince with Purple Rain and Whitney Houston with The Bodyguard and Waiting To Exhale.

Meanwhile, Dirty Dancing became a vehicle for star Patrick Swayze to make his chart debut as a recording artist. Other soundtracks, such as two entries in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, largely became collections of smash songs, regardless of their cinematic ties.

Not only did soundtrack songs enhance moviegoers’ experiences, but many became big hits on the Billboard Hot 100, with multiple soundtracks generating three or more top 10s.

By the 2000s, the flow of soundtracks packed with hits had stalled. A Billboard story in 2004 outlined various reasons for their decline, from oversaturation to filmmakers attempting to make songs work in storylines and rising artist fees.

Now, after a drought of 28 years, a soundtrack has generated three Hot 100 top 10s once again: Netflix’s animated KPop Demon Hunters. The set slays with HUNTR/X’s “Golden,” which hit No. 1 on the Aug. 16 chart, and Saja Boys’ “Your Idol” and “Soda Pop.”

The set also joins only Saturday Night Fever and Waiting To Exhale in having boasted three Hot 100 top 10s simultaneously.

“It’s so thrilling that people are hearing the songs in two ways,” KPop Demon Hunters executive music producer Ian Eisendrath recently told Billboard. “Some are loving the film, and the film is making the songs hits … and then some people are just encountering the songs, and the songs are making the film hit.”

Popcorn and pop hits: Here’s a look at soundtracks that have spun off three or more Hot 100 top 10s.

(Small print, like the credits at the end of a movie: Only soundtracks with three or more Hot 100 top 10s released from them as singles are included below. So, no Help! by the Beatles, as the title track and “Ticket To Ride” were released from the 1965 album’s U.S. version but third No. 1 “Yesterday” was not on its American tracklist. Plus, 1985’s Miami Vice TV soundtrack houses three top 10s, but Tina Turner’s “Better Be Good to Me” was released as a single from her album Private Dancer and became a hit a year earlier. Meanwhile, 1998’s City of Angels includes three songs that became top 10s on the Radio Songs chart, but Alanis Morissette’s “Uninvited” was not released as a commercial single and never hit the Hot 100.)
